The thief on the cross next to Jesus had just enough faith to put in just enough work to be saved. All that was needed, any more faith than that is just better rewards in heaven.

Deliberately misunderstanding what I said about the Bible. This on a Christian site. Are you one of the wolves?
We are saved by grace through the sacifice of Jesus. If we accept His sacrifice we are saved. Rejecting Him is the only unforgivable sin!!!
Thus we have faith and should bear the fruit thereof!! As James stated faith without works is dead. Basically saying no works means no real faith.
That is exactly what I have been saying in somewhat different words!!! According to James no works means a dead faith. He put it that faith without works is dead. Then the argument began attacking that quote from James saying I have it all wrong. If you apply this interpretation to James it makes Jesus and Paul a liar. James is not saying we are justified by works. We are justified by faith. James is saying that if we have been justified by faith, then we will be zealous for Good works and do them, as a changed person, and if we do not do them as a changed person, our faith is dead.

I stand by the Bible in James 2. Faith without works is dead. The logic is indisputable. True faith produces good fruits. Bad faithfproduces bad fruits. This is what Jesus said and then the arguing began!!!No brainer really.
But I have been there.
Justified by my works.

Matthew 7
True and False Prophets
15 “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.
James 2
Faith and Deeds
14 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? 15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
18 But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.”
Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds. 19 You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.
20 You foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless[d]? 21 Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? 22 You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. 23 And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,”[e] and he was called God’s friend. 24 You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone.
25 In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction? 26 As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.

Is there someone here who is denying that Jesus has come in the flesh?
As I previously statedI stand with the Bible as well.
Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Peter, Paul, Jude, James.
There is more than one book in the Bible.
There is more than one verse in the Bible.
Now look at You at you, proclaiming the OPPOSITE of where you once were. Define your terms, so that we KNOW that you mean the same by those terms as the rest of us. Just so you know, good works are a by product of GOD's LOVE coming into our heart, SO it is Definitely HOW GOD's LOVE coming into our Hearts, Changes Us. IT NEVER HAS BEEN A "I GOT TO THING", - - - IT IS I WILL WANT TO OUT OF LOVE FOR HIM.Works salvation and sinless perfection are surely false doctrines. But so is saying works don't matter to salvation because salvation is not by works, and because you can't lose your salvation. We need to lead them to the truth, not to another error. Note, I'm not challenging your once saved always saved belief itself. I'm challenging the teaching that says you don't have to do works because you can't lose salvation.
Go buy one of those books and educate yourself on the topics in the bible!!!

Then do a lot of research before stating opinions about some texts in the Bible. You make yourself look foolish at times. This statement is idiotic.....and that is putting it mildly......
Systematic Theology and other similar books gather ALL scriptures on a topic and then discuss what they say. Scriptures first Dippidy Doo. Think before you postyou can look to other books to learn of scripture
ill stick with scripture
id actually avoid any book you suggest
especially seeing how you carry yourself..
your "fruit"
youre arguing for no reason
not listening to sound doctrine and suggesting legitimate brothers in Christ may be "wolves"
for pointing to Jesus as our savior and not our own works
geez
open your eyes....
or pray for God to do it for you...
and maybe deflate your puffed up chest and lower your nose while Hes at it

What makes me cry when I look at my wallet?
The last time I looked at it, there was money in it. The next time I look at it there is no money in it.
The wife and kids have nicked it.
