You said this:
Like I said in your theology, you are trying to save yourself, because you have stipulated the onus is on you

to keep believing
, thereby denying the authority of God to keep you (as adopted son or daughter)
But before you said this:
So what He demands....... is that you stop trying to save yourself........ and believe in the work He has done on your behalf
In one post you say I'm trying to save myself by me saying the onus is upon me to keep believing. But in the other post you explain that God demands we not try to save ourselves but rather "believe in the work He has done on your behalf". Can you explain these contradictory stances of yours?

Don't feel bad, almost every OSASer I talk to online has the same duplicitous doctrinal belief as you do.

Our calling is sure. someone once said if you are losing hope tie a not at the end of your rope and hold on. This is worldly wisdom and makes as much sense as the people who say keep believing in Jesus or you will lose your salvation.

"He has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not because of our own works, but by His own purpose and by the grace He granted us in Christ Jesus before time eternal." 2Timothy1:9

Trust in God not your wonderful works.

And it is states clearly we are KEPT BY HIS POWER......their god with a small "g" must be weak......they have to KEEP themselves saved.......Jesus KEEPS me by HIS POWER.......!

Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Sounds like some need to come to believe, and leave their false belief that they control their destiny by an effort to keep on believing.

To continue on in the latter isn't biblical belief and it isn't believing the Gospel.

It is a remarkable thing though, how twisted the workers make the Gospel, and cannot back up their ideology with any authorities that "continuing to believe" is something a person must "do" in order to get themselves in.

No, sorry, 1 Corinthians 15:2 does not teach what they are saying it teaches.

This has to be the dumbest thing I have read for years.
Jesus says believe in me and you will receive eternal life.
Even more profound, you have past over from death to life.

But hey, now you are in its party time, do what you want, wreck the place
Dad will pick up the tab. Really, that is your faith?

Which side of hell were you born on? Certainly only for the spiritually blind,
who think God intends everyone to be blessed with worldly riches.

This has to be the dumbest thing I have read for years.
.

The imputed righteousness of Christ is a neat little trick that does not work.

The cross is not enough.

I would say that the above two fit the bill in your statement....! OH...that's right....you said both............

Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
See that little part "through faith"? That's the part you aren't getting. You are kept by the power of God for the Day of Salvation (see context) through faith. But if I say that I'm guilty of trying to save myself.

Good grief. To walk with Christ is to be one with Him.
If you are not one with Him you do not know Him.

And it is obvious you have bought into drivel because you have nothing else.
The irony, abandoned by God and His word, just wallowing in sin and hoping
this is what the cross meant, defeat and desperately trying to fight off dejection.

Build your house upon the rock, or perish, simple choice.

Listen PHART...I get it just fine....your the one who rejects the 1st part and you deny that Jesus FINISHES the work of faith he BEGAN....so...go bark your I save myself garbage up a different tree.....

And both statements are purely heretical. That being said it goes to show some simply have not truly believed the Gospel.

Trust JESUS and believe in the work of Christ and his imputed righteousness.......the only drivel comes from your save yourself and working for dogma....

Your quotes...not mine...

The imputed righteousness of Christ is a neat little trick that does not work.

The cross is not enough.

Fully agree.....anyone who MUST keep HIMSELF in the faith....does not trust JESUS.....and one who states that the cross is not enough or the imputed righteousness of Christ is neat little trick that does not work....does not either.....

Do you speak to your class this way?

Him dc. The cross means nothing to those who do not believe.
Christs righteousness bought us cleansing, but not the right to stay sinners.

I know you know nothing, because my friend you need Jesus to be your substitute,
because you cannot believe, you dc, are truly forgiven. The sin of unbelief, laid bare.
When Paul says he is righteous, he means it. God forgave him, built him, made him
whole, an evil man who killed believers, now made pure and Holy.

Now according to you, you believe God can do miracles, yet not in your life. You dare
not trust He made you clean, or want His help to heal and resolve the darkness that
remains within.

You think by telling me the cross only works if you believe is a problem, when it just
shows after so many years you are still on the wrong side, and it bothers you so.

How long before you crumble, not knowing why, but the energy just goes away?
When the storm rages, and the foundations shake. Soon, very soon.

But you said me doing that is me trying to earn my own salvation.

Dude....you embellish and twist people's words more than a pretzel shop....you know good and well the garbage you push....saying you MUST KEEP YOURSELF in the faith or lose it....being dishonest is just as bad as lying.....serious!

You can twist, embellish, twist, stir, puree, mix and blend all you want to make your statement look good now Peter....all remember what you said and your approach to this self serving, working for dogma that you push, even if in a very subtle way....both statements as originally given speaks volumes to who you really trust.....end of story

How is believing that Christ paid it all so I don't have to earn my salvation by my works me trying to save myself? Simple question. No twisting, no trickery, just a simple question concerning what you people have been telling me.

Is dc a teacher? Explains the disdain and aggression. I am sure no one crosses him,
just works around him. There is no point bringing the truth, it will just be snide answers, lol.
He made a comment about teaching a class recently.

I've only known one pastor who didn't have to know it all and wasn't afraid to not have an answer or the right answer. And he was open to opposing views and respected people with those views. That's what we did in our Bible studies. We talked openly without fear of being beat up or ridiculed. I learned the most there.
