When you say it is against his nature, do you mean to say he has not met God or received the Holy Spirit?
I agree he is angry and out of control at this moment, but I don't think it is going to help to make statements like this.

I have acted very badly at times, lost control, but I still had met God and received the Spirit. If it weren't for the love and forgiveness of my brothers, I might still be in that state. They helped to humble and calm me by their influence.
 
Why can young Christians never learn about Scripture online without wading into a bloodsport over doctrine? Why is our community Bible study so often "not for the faint of heart" if Bible study is our strongest bond?

yup he provides nutrients but we also get nut jobs who want more than they give.. the grace you recieve is no diffrent to anyone else.... the sky is not and never has been blue.... thats an easy believist legalistic view

Bible study happens in other forums and even in live chat and via pm.

It doesn't happen often in the BDF because we have many "teachers" of opposing doctrine that would rather debate than mentor.

Plus online there is no appointed leader for the forum threads.

At one time there was a weekly bible study online lead by one of the moderators but haven't seen that in a while.

Because of not having gotten our flesh under our control yet.
I think we forget to ask for what we lack and have need of sometimes...
Other times, we need to take a tumble for God to show us we are not being humble.

I don't think bible study is our strongest bond. I think learning to walk in the Spirit in love is our strongest bond.

Not judging his salvation at all, but he often allows his flesh to rule.
We all do from time to time, he just will not admit to that failure.
 
I really wasn't trying to be snarky... I was trying to bring levity... Bad idea I guess... I'll back away now.

This was a common phrase used often at Church when I was a new believer.
 
by the renewing of the mind is changing to the ways of God, and not your own ways. If you can't see things his way, then you are still in darkness.

Many Christians are blinded to their own failures and weakness.
They see the faults of others but never their own.

Help me by speaking openly about what fault or weakness you see in me.It might help me to see something I need to pray for. I'm feeling chastened and ready to hear because of my arrogant remark last night to meggido for which I had to apologize.
I'm all ears. :)

Completion of God's promises., yes..salvation no.

I believe salvation is restored relationship with God by being born again and walking with His holy spirit. We do that now and will continue to do that for eternity.
