I'll pass on "lightening up" on the truth of the Word and the one Gospel, thanks.

And I'll leave you and others of your ilk with this:

The preaching of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing - 1 Corinthians 1:18. Those who have truly believed the Gospel would never place a personal experience above that.

How about 2 Peter 2:20-22

We're either working for God
or working for the enemy

There are two gates, a narrow gate and a wide gate.
Did Jesus say there is a third gate?

We're either with God, following HIS rules,
or we're with the enemy.

I don't see the problem in saying works keep us saved.

Following Jesus keeps us saved.

Believing in Jesus keeps us saved.

Here is one person that believes that we must do works in order to keep being saved as can seen in brown above.

I believe that this poster means well but is coming at it from an angle that is not correct IMO.

Personally I believe that the true Christian life when Christ is manifesting in and through us will result in good works of some sort but it's a fruit of His life being born on us - the branches. Without Him we can do nothing.

There are better ways of talking about good works other than to say we must do them in order to keep being saved. That is not the gospel of the grace of God in Christ.

We should be encouraging each other to do good works!

Peoples minds have been changed thankfully. No believer should be left in the uncertainty of conditional security.

Conditional security is ultimately salvation by works......

working to believe, working to have faith, working to please God, working to keep one's free will from abandoning the faith and on and on. Believe what He says is true and you will be blessed by His grace which will be poured out in your heart.

Read what God said to Paul and what he tells us....

Good works done by the life of Christ in us will manifest the love and grace of our loving Father and Lord have for others - but they are not for our personal salvation. Christ alone is the Savior.


Romans 8:9-10 (NASB)
[SUP]9 [/SUP] However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.

( wickedness is all things contrary to the life of God - such as living a homosexual lifestyle to exhibiting malice towards others and the slandering of others in the body of Christ - they are all in the same lists together as "works of the flesh" )

We are "living epistles." - known and read by all men.

We are living epistles of the Lord Jesus Christ which does not originate from what we do but from who we are in Him.

Christ Himself is the Vine - we are the branches. Just as the branches are in union with the vine, so we too are in union with Christ.

This living and organic union is based upon the fact that we share a common life - His. It is an interior life expressed by exterior fruits. It is a manifestation of the new creation in Christ.

God has found a face in us that portray Him more accurately than the best theology. Our features, our touch, the cadence of our voice, the compassion in our gaze, the lines in our face when we smile, the warmth of our person and presence unveils Him to those around us.

This is "letting our light shine" before men so that people will glorify God ( see the goodness and esteem this goodness to God ) when they see the good works that originate from Him.

He is the Light and we are joined as one spirit with Him for eternity.

conditional security is no security at all. It depends on you. How can we trust self to do anything.. That is what got mankind in the situation we are in to begin with.
 
Amen!!

I have no need of external personal experience beyond my life which is hid with Christ. He meets my every need there.

It is like a mutual funds manger that says - "Come into the fund - it's free - there are no fees" - but then they say when trying to take your money out - " there is now a fee".

You seem to not comprehend very deeply, what you so easily and carelessly take for granted.....this is the real danger in the OSAS leaven....Not everyone who says to Me....Lord, Lord....

I would really look over what you said here and think about the implication you made...you seem to be suggesting a experiential relationship, when that word KNOW implies to be at one with and is much deeper than simple relationship knowledge of Jesus gained only through experiences with Jesus....

My wife and I have learned through experiences with each other many things....but our intimacy transcends that level of the relationship....

passive work only knowledge is destroying you.....

2. You would twist that post to make it say what you want.
3. Whoever answers will be argued with.
