The Baptists do it all the time here in the USA, espeically at the youth summer camps...
He simply changed his mind towards the sinning that he was doing that the Corinthians tolerated and thus it was like leaven to them.
Paul decided to turn him over to satan for the destruction of the flesh but it looks like he repented of his behavior before he was destroyed by the enemy.
exactly, so some folks here need to quit preaching his flesh was destroyed....and ours will be as well.
Oh...that must be a fun time - the way that the Pentecostal churches I went to do it - it was a major con job and manipulation technique.
I'm sure they had good intentions but then again the gospel was so severely watered down in the churches I went to - they had to resort to this type of activity to control people.
It is all man-made traditions and just shows that the true gospel was never being preached to them. Works-based belief systems have this mindset.

The Gospel message IS offensive. It says THERE IS NO OTHER WAY, than to trust Jesus Sacrificial death as payment for our sins. It's offensive to those that can't understand that adding to that Gospel, is trampling on the blood of Christ. I get that.
But why have you refused to answer ANY of my 5 or 6 questions if not because they pinch you hard?
A requirement of faith.
I have a picture of someone on the group with a parachute. They know the drill,
jumping out of the plane, clearing it, counting a few seconds then pulling the rip chord,
and the parachute deploys, and you float gently down to earth.
Now failures are
1. Not leaving the plane, no faith exercised
2. Leaving the plane, but not pulling the rip chord so you plummet to earth
The rip chord is repentance, and exercising the gifts of the Spirit and walking
in righteousness.
If you do not exercise it, you will just make a rather sad sight impaled on the
ground. You have to trust the parachute, and execute the rip chord.
Trusting in yourself you will just fail, terminally.

I do love my brothers and sisters in Christ.....you seem to conflate love for a brother with my hatred of the false working for dogma that you and a few others push.....I have no problem with you per se, just what you espouse and teach which waters down and tramples under foot the blood and sacrifice of Jesus...

AMEN......I just do not understand how one can read Galatians and not understand that to embellish faith with works as a requirement to finish salvation is a false, double cursed gospel.........
Personally Peter, I think you are speaking of walking upright but thinking it is righteousness.
Imputed is what Jesus is being applied to our very being. Walking upright is a moral life.

Yes you do, everytime I say I say or believe things I never said. or say OSAS is of satan, But thats ok, It does not bother me, You can;t take what I have in christ,

The argument is not can dead faith save,
the argument is do works save, or maintain salvation, And can true saving faith be separated from works.
It seems you do not understand the argument yourself.
again, Can you please show the room where one person said a dead faith would save anyone. (this is the third time I have asked today, are you afraid because you know no one actually says this?) or just you can not show anyone saying this? which is it)

I will add this Brice, it is mostly the legalist Baptists that do this...the one's that have dress codes, hair length rules, will not eat port, do not go to movies, etc
