I think she makes a valid point that free will is also something that must come from the sinner to accept Jesus...
Jason, there is a point were it does not matter what the insult is, because it is just a distraction.
Once you talk about the behaviour, they use that as ammunition. It then becomes a fight, lol.
Some just want this because to them others are just evil.
Truth. They do not know how to love, which means it is all
over in spiritual terms. Everyone is a future brother or sister
or already there. We have no real enemies, just the lost and
those who can see. This is a good place to learn how to bless
and rejoice, people praise Jesus, a miracle, amen.
mighty scripture.. but who gets justified ? is it those after Gods own heart. or is it those in whom he see someone special ?... or is it those who Cod sees as needing salvation ?...answers on a post card please sis...
I love your brother. The Lord is our comforter, in Him we have our rest.
The cross for me shows me where my centre is, so there I go.

So when a believe stone walls me, I know love has still work to do.

Grace and the power of the cross and love stunning, but this condemnation, so out of phase
with the cross. Trouble is you cannot fake a good heart, God has to make it.
Now if people jump to, "you are being arrogant" they are not seeing the cross at all but pride
and self condemnation. This is were we all have to start. I did many years ago, and I could
not believe how much pride and defence I had. I am just a voice, no more pointing to the King.

This is a truly sad and scary post, but I absolutely appreciate your honesty in outright stating that you believe your works are necessary for salvation.
I can only pray that the Holy Spirit reveals to you that Jesus perfect Sacrifice is sufficient ALONE for your redemption, and to add to His finished work is insulting His Spirit of Grace.
If your work was necessary, why did God say NO to His Son when Jesus prayed to Him that if there were ANY other way, to take the cup from Him. Can't you see how insulting it is to add to His Sacrifice?

Yes and Amen, it is ALL about the heart. We give out of the abundance of what we have, and I don't mean in a fleshly way (money, resources etc).
Think of what we have been given, we have been given EVERYTHING for life and godliness. Nothing in there about stuff or doing or giving, or taking or working or anything. When we were saved we were given HIM, He is our inheritance, He is what we must truly give.
The best gift we could ever give someone is to point them toward Jesus so that He can give them the MOST valuable gift of Himself.
Somebody that is lost, that believes they have no hope, show them that there is a "way out" of this world, while we are still physically alive and eternally as we move to the next.
The rules and laws and doctrines do not account for any of that. Only God.

I learned that Calvinist believe in free will too. Just they also believe all good comes from God.
I agree with that.
Then it gets more complicated.

You can do whatever you want, you have free will.
But God can do what he wants.
He has free will too.
I think God gets in the last word for our own good.

None of the above. And in a way All.
People only seek after His heart after God draws them.
He does not choose based on something they did but for his own will and purpose...the elect are not more special or good then other sinners to be chosen.they are made special because God choses them.
Everyone needs salvation. Is everyone saved?

Did not expect this question? No. I think the lost are lost, without hope of restoration.
Without Christ being invited in to ones heart, we are forever lost, with no hope of redemption.
What I mean about no real enemies, people are just disfunctional mal-adjusted individuals.
Why would anyone want to kill people who desire love and truth and find a way to help others.
There has to be something very wrong inside, but this is what happens.
When you see this you realise nothing is really about oneself but the odd way emotions twist
peoples thinking and focus. But this does not change the repetition of these feelings.
PeterJens I have always felt that your intentions are kind and well-meaning. I'm not sure why some are blind to that and try to, in a sense, put out your fire. The fact is, they know that they do that, and then they continue doing it. What kinds of works are they?
I always wonder how do we get through to these kind of people. I admire your strength, for me, it just makes this a toxic environment to me that I need to avoid.
There are groups/places online where people can discuss things in kindness, each with very different views, and being very different people. But you would have thought in a Christian environment, every one of us would hold this as key to all discussion. Sometimes I am here wondering if this is an asylum of some kind.

if you are seeing something that is not there.
I wonder if we justify our positions, and then read in others feelings to make sense why
they behave as they do, but it might be completely wrong. I have seen two sides in a debate
do this when actually different things were going on. Often groups just play to their own
audience, and communication is irrelevant, just passing on party policy. The opposition are
then just a cartoon. It is disappointing, but this is group human behaviour. lol
