Best to let Calvinists define themselves.
They can't do that, they'd rather tell us what we believe.

People who follow Christ "keep" (Greek word "tereo" - guard, observe, watch over) His commands. This does not mean that we perfectly obey all of His commands 100% of the time. Is that the answer you are looking for?But you still haven't answered my question.
...when you ask them directly if they believe we should keep God's commandments, they sidestep the question.
We all get it wrong to some degree.who sincerely believe they are following Jesus
I was looking for a direct answer, not a hemming and hawing around.People who follow Christ "keep" (Greek word "tereo" - guard, observe, watch over) His commands. This does not mean that we perfectly obey all of His commands 100% of the time. Is that the answer you are looking for?
Must or else results in 'salvation by works.' We should always obey God, but that doesn't mean we never mess up.They accuse anyone who suggests that we should obey God's commandments as preaching a 'salvation by works' doctrine.
We are created in Christ Jesus unto good works...that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:10) We should "keep" (guard, observe, watch over) God's commandments. (1 John 2:3)But when you ask them directly if they believe we should keep God's commandments, they sidestep the question.
I thought I gave you a direct answer. Need further confirmation? "Hemming and hawing around?"I was looking for a direct answer, not a hemming and hawing around.

Not in your first response, you were hemming and hawing around. Surely you know that wasn't close to direct, right?I thought I gave you a direct answer.

I'm being sincere. Not trying to be in your face. Not in your first response, you were hemming and hawing around. Surely you know that wasn't close to direct, right?
Are you trying to be in my face? I hope not.![]()

"We should always obey God"
Exactly!
That's all that's being said here.
But some people are accusing me of preaching a 'salvation by works' doctrine just for saying that we should obey God.
Good to know.I'm being sincere. Not trying to be in your face.![]()
Dude (said in a nice way) ... you have at times used words that would lead one to think you believe in "salvation by works". I have read your posts. They are ambiguous at times. I personally don't think you believe in 'salvation by works'; but at times don't articulate it well. The difference between the qualifiers like "should", "will", "must", "try to" in front of "obey" can be subtle. But some people are accusing me of preaching a 'salvation by works' doctrine just for saying that we should obey God.
the people hassling me won't say whether we should keep the Lord's commandments.
BTW before I get falsely accused, no I am not saying "don't bother doing righteous works and walking in obedience"
Yes He says if you love Him, keep His instruction.
But does He say we have life by works or does He say we have life by believing on Him?
Yes, I'm not up on church 'lingo', so perhaps the way I have articulated my thoughts hasn't helped.Dude (said in a nice way) ... you have at times used words that would lead one to think you believe in "salvation by works". Meant as constructive criticism. (IMO)
I like your profile picture.
Don't take this the wrong way: If you cannot articulate your beliefs concisely, it's because you don't understand them as well as you think you do.Yes, I'm not up on church 'lingo', so perhaps the way I have articulated my thoughts hasn't helped.
I have tried though.
Yes the harassing comment wasn't really aimed at you.ahem:
really don't think i'm harassing you.
but could you answer my question, then?
