Do Christians have a duty to keep God's commandments?Wonderful to see so many X symbols under this works salvation pushing post..![]()
When anybody's sins are not covered by Jesus' sacrifice, they will be judged on those sins.
I've no idea Hun, I'm not God.What will happen to them?
They will be punished by God, they will fall sick, they will lose their salvation?
I've no idea Hun, I'm not God.
See the OP.Where do you get that doctrine from? Which scripture?
See the OP.
Is it not the case that any sins that are not covered by Jesus' blood are seen by God?
Do Christians have a duty to keep God's commandments?
John 14:15
"If you love me, keep my commandments"
Ecclesiastes 12:13
"Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind".
Yes, but we're talking about when a Christian habitually wilfully sins.My Bible tells me this in Isa 61:10
I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
The Hebrew word for covered there means "completely wrapped up".
That means my spirit has been imputed with Jesus's righteousness such that, no matter which angle God looks at me, he only sees the perfect obedience of Jesus.
Thus, no, God does not see any sin when he looks at me.
Have you seen how much flak I've come under for saying that?Do Christians have a duty to keep God's commandments?
Absolutely yes!

It is our duty to keep God's commandments:Well, yes, but you are very unclear in what you say . . . when you say we need to keep God's commandments that is very different than saying it is our duty to keep God's commandments -- at least I understand those two ways of saying it very differently.
All manner of sin and Blasphemy WILL BE FORGIVEN MEN.When anybody's sins are not covered by Jesus' sacrifice, they will be judged on those sins.
what sins are not covered?See the OP.

Your coming under flak because you make it a requirement to stay saved.Have you seen how much flak I've come under for saying that?
And how do you do it? Where do you get the power? It is our duty to keep God's commandments:
Ecclesiastes 12:13
"Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind".
I'm saying we need to do it because that's what God has told us to do.

Yes and that is called "type 2 works salvation."Your coming under flak because you make it a requirement to stay saved.
And not a result of being saved
