And yet you will not put everything aside and reach out in love.

I love you Biblically.
Do you feel the same way about me, or do you hold no love for me in your heart?
You show me where we are commanded to overlook false teaching to embrace each other in Love....and you seem to think that because I may rake one over the coals because of a false peddled idea or teaching that I cannot be loving that person....

???? Was Jesus loving the money changers when he drove them from the temple with a whip?

Was Jesus loving the Pharisees when he called them blind leaders of the blind or white washed coffins filled with the bones of dead men?

What about John when he called them snakes and vipers?

Wrong, I’ve never supported him in that. In fact I publicly disagreed with him and still disagree with his OP.

The above post of yours is silly and contradictory. I support him but you know I don’t? That’s just nonsense and you know it. You accuse then try to dismiss it, it can't be both.

Nope, the lies are bigger, designed to destroy ones character, adherence to the truth, and belief in the fact one believes Christ alone saves. You’ve given likes and/or laughs to these posts.

Nope, sorry, you’re being disingenuous. He lied and implied I stated keeping means to do so perfectly and continued his rampage after I was very clear in the necessity of defining “keep.” He accused falsely without premise and still accuses that is what I said.

He brought that false charge on me and is still doing it when I came nowhere close to saying it. He knee jerk reacts and accuses of things never stated or implied.

Then he went into the lying idiocy, name calling, slander, you know, his normal routine that you make certain to like. :)

Both of you have disregarded my posts in order to continue the callow ridicule. If you read each of my posts you will see I asked each to read and see what “keep” means after I disagreed with @DBurrage. All of his accusations and mouthing are unfounded and foolish.

Lastly, I noted that Christ says His keep his commandments, he’s disagreed with this in totality. Yes, in totality and has totally dismissed this truth.

So I ask a simple question. Jesus says his people keep his commands.

Do you?

No, I didn’t ask if you are under the law, are working your way to heaven, believe a works gospel. It is do you keep his commandments and what does this word keep actually mean?

But I digress, that was my entire point: His people do keep his commands, and what keep means in John 14:21. But no, can’t have anything rational, go berserk and attack, accuse, call them self righteous, lie, ridicule, garner likes.
This is what @dcontroversal wrote

a. NO ONE keeps the commandments and or the law
Surely you can see means this perfectly... it makes no sense otherwise

It really is not false .. no one keeps the law.. you went on to explain but it had no bearing on his main point.

I already know your opinion of my stance that salvation is a free gift no strings attached ... but that we through discipleship/union with /Christ/Abiding are conformed to His image and perseverance is not a given, so I see no point rehashing all the rest.

Well had to delete what I started to post. Seems its not even close to where it started. And this was foretold at the start lol.

I see the word "love" getting tossed out. How can you love someone you don't know? See how we treat others, those around us. If we can't love those we see hear feel.. and then can't love our enemy. You never will Christ.

See Christians that play together will become competitive. Now fact warriors that fight together become brothers. They will die for each other.

Again.. how can you love someone you don't know never met. When you can't even love those around you that you know. And for the record.. WHO are these people these kind of threads target? No ..who here believes you can sin all you want?

I will say.. when you look at others.. don't judge don't condemn. And know they don't sin against you and they were not put here to please any man. Know you have no control over anyone. And we will answer for ever idle/empty word. What you say right now gets remembered.

No

if this is true he contradicted paul

end of story
so the teachings of James have to conform to Paul, as if Paul is the final authority, strange idea being as the bible teaches the oppesite, when Paul has a problem he goes and sees the 12 for their authority and James is treated as an elder.

This only reveals that you have not been born again, because if you had been, you would understand that you would not want to do those things, your heart would be set on pleasing Him.
but according to the theology i can in fact do all of these things because works do not matter.

Wow man.....are you seriously that dense.....you do know that CHURCHES PASSED the LETTERS AROUND RIGHT....and that the O.T. was translated into GREEK and you actually believe that they had NO ACCESS to the word of GOD?....

Wow man.....seriously.....get some help with understanding church history, the scriptures and rightfully dividing the word of God!

Nobody is saying otherwise.

Admittedly the thread title has thrown people off of the message, perhaps understandably.
But what is actually being said is this:

BUT, the point of this thread is that if we do not consciously turn away from sin and do our best to stop rebelling against God once we accept Jesus into our lives, Jesus' sacrifice will not cover those sins:
If you want your argument to be clear, you need to elaborate on the words in bold.

What do you mean exactly when you claim Jesus' sacrifice will not cover those sins?

What do you think will happen to a Christian when some of his sins are not covered?

No

they have to agree

which means they must conform to the same gospel

which they do

except in your belief, where they contradict

this is the elephant they dont want to deal with. if works dont matter then you really can go out and sin all you want, die, go to heaven and they welcome you with open arms. its nonsensical.
This convoluted comment received three ribbons.. the very thing Paul dealt with over and over again.

You distort grace by your perverted logic... let us do evil that good my come

Paul states this comes from a heart of unbelief.

2 Peter 2:1
"But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them, bringing swift destruction on themselves".

I would like to contend that the notion that salvation is given to us ONLY in return for believing in Jesus Christ as our Lord and savior is INCOMPLETE.

We ARE asked to believe in Jesus Christ for salvation:
Acts 16:30-31
" "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household" ".

HOWEVER, Jesus repeatedly told people to stop sinning, and we are warned that if we deliberately/knowingly continue in sin following the acceptance of Jesus into our lives, Jesus' sacrifice will NOT cover these sins:
Hebrews 10:26
"Dear friends, if we deliberately continue sinning after we have received knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice that will cover these sins".

This of course makes sense.
If we SAY we follow Jesus but continue rebelling against God, then are we REALLY following Jesus?
Matthew 7:21
"Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter".

So then, we must accept Jesus into our lives and believe in him.
AND we must also stop rebelling against God, even after we have accepted Jesus into our lives.

What I have said may be obvious to many, but all the time I hear excuses from Christians to justify their sinning:
"Nobody is perfect" - nobody has said that you are
"God will forgive me" - actually, according to Matt 7:21, if you continue to sin after accepting Jesus, Jesus' sacrifice won't cover your sin (verse above)
"We're human, and humans are fallible" - typical excuse!
"It is impossible not to sin, as we are not perfect" - this article sums it up very well: https://www.gotquestions.org/go-and-sin-no-more.html
Have you heard these kind of excuses too?

Christians have no excuses for deliberately/knowingly sinning:
1 John 1:6
"If, then, we say that we have fellowship with him, yet at the same time live in the darkness, we are lying both in our words and in our actions".
Wonderful to see so many X symbols under this works salvation pushing post.. :giggle:

if my belief lined up perfect with aleister crowley i wouldnt want to discuss it either.
I repeat this is a disgusting comment ... probably one of the worst I have ever read and two people even found it funny.

@Whispered and @Kolistus

@preacher4truth this is the person you gave a ribbon to

A person who turns the Grace of God into a reason for depravity ... perverted logic that slanders Grace in order to exalt their worthiness

And why not say, “Let us do evil that good may come”?—as we are slanderously reported and as some affirm that we say.
Their condemnation is just.
Romans 3:8

Study this verse carefully @jaybird88 ... Paul states people who slander with their perverted logic do so from a heart of unbelief and their condemnation is just.

When anybody's sins are not covered by Jesus' sacrifice, they will be judged on those sins.
