I'd like to add Deepwater Horizon (2016) to my list. I missed it when it back when it came out, but now I wish I had seen it at the theater. Anyway, I watched it recently and thought it was excellent. One of the more gripping movies I've seen.

I'd like to add Deepwater Horizon (2016) to my list. I missed it when it back when it came out, but now I wish I had seen it at the theater. Anyway, I watched it recently and thought it was excellent. One of the more gripping movies I've seen.
I just got back from a 30th Anniversary screening of one of my favorite movies - you guessed it, The Crow. The picture and sound quality were amazing, which made me think the remaster supervised by original DP Dariusz Wolski was used for both this exhibition and the just-released 4K disc. My only disappointment about the screening itself, was that there weren't actually many people in attendance. The auditorium probably sat around 100 to 150 people, but I counted maybe 20, myself included. Also, Cinemark's website seemed to suggest that the movie's production designer Alex McDowell would be addressing the audience at some point, but all we got was a very brief video clip beforehand. I still loved seeing the movie on the big screen, so in that regard it gets top marks. But I'll grant the experience as a whole a middle grade, say 5 out of 10.

My students learned how to use the extra long bull whip on targets. It was a skill development drill that helped excellerate the learning curve for utilizing the entire body in the techniques. Plus it was lots of fun popping balloons, jugs and the Michelin Man.
I saw Logan Lucky last night.
Great movie. It's a comedy about a bank heist in West Virginia's car races and it's all about southern stereotypes, accents and way of life.

Harrison Ford was in The Call of the Wild movie released four years ago. He would have been close
to eighty during filming. He looked pretty good! Fabulous, actually, and surprisingly enough LOL.
I thought it a bit hokey when I first started watching it a while back, partly because of the CGI dog, but
got over that quickly enough to enjoy the movie, which was based on the classic novel by Jack London.
It was rated PG, though a scene with Dan Stevens (who played quite the villain) was somewhat shockingly graphic.
I never heard about that one. He's a great actor.
I'll try to find it.

Will Smith had a CHI dog in his zombie movie. It was ok in spite of that. It was a remake of the Charlton Heston movie, based on yet another older movie. I can't remember the titles though.

I just watched The intro to I Am Legend. I was wrong. The dog was real. The outside set and the other animals were CGI.
I Don't normally watch movies like this, but it had Will Smith in it and was based on the previous movie with Heston. This one was the story they tried to scare everyone with in 2020 to get everyone to be injected. Except this was a real bad plague in the story. I won't spoil it in case you ever watch it. Smith did a good job of acting. The cgi zombies were, um I guess better than the ones that I watched as a kid.

With due respect, that poster has to be a fake, because several of the names on the billing block were already famous well before 2024. Daniel Craig, Katie Holmes, Channing Tatum, Sebastian Stan, Adam Driver, and Katherine Waterston all got their respective starts on television decades ago, even though many of them have become superstars now.
Perhaps I got the wrong impression overall, but the billing block does say "introducing Daniel Craig". His actual first credit was a UK miniseries called Anglo-Saxon Attitudes, from 1992. Logan Lucky wouldn't be done for another 25 years.
Actually, there are a lot of movies that I really like, and will watch over and over.... Outlaw Josey Wales, Open Range, Love Actually, which had some outstanding performances in it... especially by Emma Thompson....

I'm not into most Westerns, but I do like both Tombstone, and The Quick and the Dead. As for other genres, most of my Blu-Ray collection is made up of action and family fare, with a few dramas and musicals sprinkled in. I got a 4K player a few months ago, so I've been buying some movies in that format. There's no way I'd bother with replacing all I currently have, though - it would take far too long and the cost would be insane. My most recent 4K purchase was Escape From New York, a classic film in my opinion. I also have the 3-film Karate Kid Collection box set, coming next week.
