Be a bit careful with Takeshi Miike , there r one or two of his not suitable for children or sensitive adults 😬 Takeshi Kitano is also mostly for grown ups , he's fab though .
Bless you Suze, real cheers for the concern but though i haven't watched one of his *please pass me that bin so i can throw up in it* films, i know about them.

The bird people isn't his only anomaly, this film is surprisingly lovely too: Kin'yû hametsu Nippon: Tôgenkyô no hito-bito [2002], think you'd really like it too.

Heh! I'm not an absolute wimp when it comes to violence in films but since they were around 10, my children have worried more about films affecting me, than i've needed to worry about them :p

Searched for a clip from a film i have, which you might appreciate. I love martial arts, of which there's some pretty good stuff in the film but the intro near kills me through laughter. Subs are available but just cheesy dubbing is usual, cheesily uppercrust English accents are just so wrong for the action in the movie opening: The Tattoo Connection (1978)
You don't need to scroll at all, think i'll hear you crying with laughter. Enjoy!

Pretty sure you'd love most of the stuff i've collected, i'll sort you a representative taster list soon

I am not overly sensitive to violence though I do have my limit , sexual violence is very uncomfortable for me . Other than that I don't mind , it's because the violence isn't real and I know it isn't real , real violence and it's consequences upset me greatly . Any type of real cruelty is deeply upsetting to me , but the fake stuff ? No problem . Vampires zombies ghosts etc don't bother me one bit . I'm sure it has to do with my upbringing . When I was a child , the thing I feared most was my dad , vampires and ghosts were fluffy kittens compared to him . I've never been hurt by a vampire or a zombie or a ghost and I'm sure I never shall b . As far as I'm concerned demons r not supernatural beings , humans r the demons , always have been and always will b . There's nothing on this earth worse than a nasty human being , I know that for sure . So , bring on the horror films 🤡👻👹 just so log as my dad isn't in any of them ! 😆😆😆🙀🙀🙀

Bless you Suze, i had a troubled upbringing too, for different reasons i think but understand where you're coming from. Maturing enough to evaluate my experiences, actually made me appreciative of what i learned from them, walk a mile in my shoes is a truly wise adage to me.

We're fallen, all of us, and need to sort out our own issues, instead of using others as a benchmark to make ourselves feel less bad about the wrong we do. My username here really suits me, i see life as a wondrous, fascinating, learning experience. Hope that makes some sense.

Perfect sense ! Everything happens for a reason , we may never understand the reason but God knows and His wisdom and understanding r impeccable , we r bring refined in this life , prepared , we must trust Him always , every second He is with us ❤️

Nicholas Cage is a bit marmite seemingly, i love quite a few of his films, Lord of War is my favourite. This film is pretty good too:

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent [2022] https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11291274/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0_tt_3_nm_0_in_0_q_the%20unbearable%20weight%20of%20massive%20tal

Fans of The Twilight Zone are likely to enjoy this: Self/less [2015] https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2140379/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_2_tt_8_nm_0_in_0_q_selfless

This film has a thought provoking theme too: Perfect Sense [2011] https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1439572/
I was very much NOT a fan of Nicolas Cage for quite some time. He came across as very wooden to me after the fashion of Humphrey Bogart whom I was also not a fan of until after seeing The African Queen a few years ago (not my first viewing). Then I saw him in a western about the treasure of Sierra Madre (?) where he played some really loathsome character and I disliked him all over again but this time because he was such a good actor in his character LOL. Anyways, it was after I watched the extras included with the DVD of National Treasure that my opinion of Nicolas began to change, after which he did the sorcerer's apprentice movie which my daughter and I enjoyed watching together... and he also did some very weird things, among which I would include Adaptation, where he played the twin Kauffman brothers, and there were a few other fairly odd offerings, one from a few years ago where he started showing up in people's dreams doing things they objected to so the whole world, basically, started hating him, including his family. Anywho, I get what you said about the graphic nature of the violence done to mere mortals at the hands of Nicolas' Dracula in Renfield. It did seem to me that they had taken a page out of Monty Python's playbook, which, to be sure, when I was younger was a real turn off to me. Now the camp and the humor very much lessen that aspect of all the spurting blood. Heh. That's entertainment, as they say LOL. Horror as a genre holds no appeal to me whatsoever...

Know many here won't like how i see things but i do wonder/speculate about why God, who i see as having no wrong in him rather than being incapable of wrong; didn't just erase Adam, Eve and Satan.

I envisage Him as a vital, vibrant, infinitely complex being who at least sometimes, likes to engage in new projects/set new goals for Himself etc. Obviously we can't ever quantify Him but to me, it does seem he reveals aspects of Himself to us, which are important for us to know. So we can develop love for and an understanding of Him, as our eternal Father and be his adoring, appreciative companions in his adventures.

Text isn't a great medium for explaining these sort of thoughts, so hope what i've posted makes some sense.

That's a really great comment Magenta, i too find him something of an enigma. There always seems to be some continuity to his persona but somehow, he can seem very likeable, or repulsive to me at times. Your comment really helped me clarify my thoughts about him.

Also rethinking my thoughts about you, don't mind if you laugh but i thought you might be South Korean or similar. However, seems like you have a similar understanding to me about Monty Python. Haven't got much time now and my little Princess will want her treats and evening meal soon, i'd like to have a PM chat soon if that's ok with you.

I don't mean tonight, don't worry, soon would be great.
