Amen you got it,' without excuse '
The Gospel is truth about why Jesus died ( For their sins ) ' the goodness of God leads to a change of mind ( repentance) The Holy Spirit reproves the world of Unbelief in Jesus . The Gospel is ' good news ' to a sinner who recognises he is lost and without hope. We preach a message of ' reconciliation. 2 cor 5 .19I just do not see how a person can repent if they are not convicted of sin, if you do not think your a sinner, your either gonna laugh and say Christianity is foolish, or be a modern day pharisee who believes in god but does not need Christ So he will either seek god religiously or be a legalistic Christian
There is no "spiritual choice" made from the natural man, who was spiritually dead at the time of his quickening, Eph 2:1.

To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
We tell sinners " today is the day of salvation ' , ' be reconciled to God .
maybe Lazarus rose from the dead of his own initiative, and that's why Christ waited till the 4th day, so Lazarus would spend time thinking about what he'd done, waiting in the tomb for Christ to call to him & tell him to come forth . . ?
((nah probably not))
Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.Salvation is by grace through Faith ( Hence the name i chose )
8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
No what some do is add ' but '
Does you salvation message include a 'but '
For Example : ' But you have to repent of your sins "
But that faith is never alone ( calvinists)
"But you can't just live how you want and still expect ....."
"But .....
Why are some adding to :
.8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: ?
Can it be that it really is good news ?
Hello again EleventhHour, I agree with you (though there is more to "orthodox Christianity" than sanctification, as I'm sure you are aware).Sanctification is synergistic
And salvation requires that the person hears the Gospel, believes and trusts in Christ for salvation.
This is orthodox Christianity.
You gotta give me the verse though ? I know it sounds as if it should say that somewhere but we shouldn't go on a hunch that its the case . If there's a verse i.ll happily look at it ?For their sins
if you do not think your a sinner you will never believe the truth of the gospel.
thats my point bro, other than that I agree here
Lol give me a verse that says there is a trinity, exact wordsYou gotta give me the verse though ? I know it sounds as if it should say that somewhere but we shouldn't go on a hunch that its the case . If there's a verse i.ll happily look at it ?
Hey come on ,where talking about salvation here not the unfathomable nature of God which we have some ideas but its dim to say the least . if we were to stop where the bible stops we would maybe stop at What is written about how we are saved . And so far as I can see its in those verses given so far . I'm happy to be corrected with some other verses . But I'm careful to not want to go with what ' sounds right ' or ' is in keeping with such and such ..that is a bit slippery.Lol give me a verse that says there is a trinity, exact words
your talking about a lifeless body who can’t think and trying to relate it to a body that has life and can still think
hence your argument falls flat,
well to anyone but those who believe like you
well to anyone but those who believe like you
We don't have to do anything more once we are saved ,but we should. There are plenty of Christians who don't get a chance to do anything as they die soon after .Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.
That is how we come to salvation, through faith, belief, in the gospel. Sadly, many teachers think verse 9 tells us we do not have to do anything more once we're saved. Just believe. They insist works has nothing to do with our salvation and this is untrue.
Good deeds are part of our salvation process.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10 (ESV)
Revelation 22:12 “Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay each one for what he has done. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”
In what way does works have anything to do in salvation?Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.

I see, but then again how can I come to,Christ if I am not convicted of sin.Hey come on ,where talking about salvation here not the unfathomable nature of God which we have some ideas but its dim to say the least . if we were to stop where the bible stops we would maybe stop at What is written about how we are saved . We weretell Paul how wrong he is to say 'we were dead in our trespasses' . . ?
Lazarus could not think or dothe analogous body in question does not have "life" according to God's definition of "life" -- they have only an existence of death.
the mind in question does not have "understanding" according to God's definition of "understanding" -- they have only darkness and ignorance and vanity & futility.
this is how the Bible speaks. i am fine with no one apart from scripture agreeing with me; it's kinda 'story of my life' bro![]()
Which sin ? All I have so far is John 16.8and 9? And a hold load of sermons which just quote verse 8 without verse 9 . The message is that Jesus has already Died for their sins . that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. What is Paramount is Their Only access to the grace is to RECIEVE Jesus ( rom 5.2By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.) So the Comforter is going straight to the only problem that remains for them . UNBELIEF . Not because Jesus hasn't died for the sin of Unbelief, but because ' Belief ' is the only access to the grace ( Eph 2.8.9)Through faith . 1 cor 1.21I see, but then again how can I come to,Christ if I am not convicted of sin.
They were redeemed at the cross . We cannot be made alive without receiving Jesus . John 1.12 . ,2cor 5.19 tells us all sinners ,sins were reconciled at the cross .We were
which means we can not be made alive until those tresspasses and sins are redeemed first
justification must come first. Otherwise scripture contradicts itself
