Yep the Red background is no accident he is expressing his support of the Republican party by standing in front of it, If you listen to his words closely(pre-written for him) he miss-pronounces MAGA as MAGA(T)i.e. (T)rump and divides MAGA and Trump from the R's and then depicts MAGA as a fringe,far right organization within the R party. I went to PBS to watch the original speech(video) because it's been so heavily photo-shopped on the www... This to me probably means that he has Republican supporters(prior to his speech) and you are probably correct in your assumption that within the next few weeks/days they will arrest DT and then those supporters close to his team and then work their way down. I think your correct on one thing because after the Bush/Gore election I had come to the mind my vote didn't count and stopped voting altogether. The reason why is they said on the radio Bush had won but it was still about 2:30 pm in Texas and we hadn't even finished voting yet. And so after watching all these things unfold from 2015 till now in the media and here on CC both me and my family are all again registered voters.
Anyway though things like public servants , (Senators,Governors ect.) referring to "other servants" (baristas=servant) as slackers may very well backfire. I think the endorsements by Trump for the party members who ran Texas for the last three decades may have put the icing on the cake because Texas was great 30 years ago but it isn't any longer. Your correct though this all could backfire and why is if we reflect back in time because of "Make America Great Again"(Trump made us remember,,rofl) to the 50's,60's at the time we see as when it was great in our eyes(and his) what is going to stand out is we're referring to times like when leaders like JFK(D),Johnson(D) were in office.
