Thanks for sharing that, I once went to an event called Flourish, it was a "college service concert thing" and it was pretty great. The special guest who was a Christian radio host said to us that she was once an alcoholic, and that she enjoy talking about the bible and being a Christian but she enjoyed drinking alcohol too. There was a day when God came to her and told her that he loves her so much, but he cannot use her like this, and ever since that day, she has not had a drink of alcohol. I would suggest that you could probably try to fast from nicotine for a while and try to hear God while not using. Prayer to God to deliver you from the nicotine is also a good one, and just listening to God whenever you can is also good. God can deliver you and take you out of whatever situation that you could possibly be in, you just have to be willing to want to do it. I understand that you said that you were not serious, but your health is pretty important, and I just feel that God and your fellow brothers and sisters just want the best for you, and we want you to see that for yourself as well. So whenever your ready, you can probably try those things that I listed as well as other options that you may feel is great for you. Thanks for your post once again, God bless!"The sound of your footsteps, telling me that you're near. Your soft, gentle motion babe, brings out a need in me that no one can hear.."
From "Midnight Confessions" by Grass Roots
A forum for the one secret confession that you do not want revealed
but are brave enough to admit for all to see.
My name is tourist and I have a serious nicotine addiction. I once told God that I wanted quit smoking. He did not answer my prayer as He knew that I was lying to him. Perhaps when I am serious he will deliver me from this self-imposed affliction, and other things as well that do not belong in my life.
I was not serious but that was over 4 1/2 years ago when I wrote the OP. I am still an addict but now I am serious about quitting. I will consider that fasting idea you had. I can say to myself, "I am still an addict but I chose not to smoke, today" and leave it at that. Take each day one day at a time. It's not like I am quitting as I still have the option whether to have a smoke fast the next day but during the fast day no smoking. Yeah, I am going to ponder that. Thank you for your contribution. Thanks for sharing that, I once went to an event called Flourish, it was a "college service concert thing" and it was pretty great. Yes, we met shortly after I joined. It started slowly with an occasional PM and then suddenly took off. We sang about our CC romance in my Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band thread that I had created when I was feeling very lonely. I believe we actually start singing to each other around August 2014. A lot of peeps followed us around CC for a couple months so I guess that we had our 15 minutes of CC Fame. We exchanged a few posts in my Midnight Confession thread as well.Hello JesusLives, we haven't met before now but I've talked with Tourist some in the forums.
