There is good news about the modern medicine and mental illness. There are new type of drugs coming out soon. New class of drugs. One of them will be here in Q2 of 2026, the FDA will review it. The drug has little weight gain compared to the current drugs. It works for both schizo and bipolar.
Brilaroxazine (RP5063)
And then there is the;
NBI-1117568, NBI-568. An M4 only agonist.

@Brasspen , that's an amazing find.
I am hoping that the current weaning off process I'm on will lead to decent results.
Every time i told my previous nurse practitioner that i was doing great, she would up my meds, which I find to be very, very strange.
I think I am now realizing that they more so want to control us with these meds, instead of actually heal us...i'm coming to find out that simple daily exercise, sun and a balanced diet is sometimes better then these meds.
These meds make it really hard to have the motivation to do anything, which causes all the problems (for me at least) and then they bandaid all the side effects with more meds...it's absolute insanity.
Before 2010, I never had schizophrenic symptoms when I had an old roommate admit me into the hospital, and then I was diagnosed with schizophrenia. After I got out of the hospital that same week, I still didn't have any schizophrenic symptoms...I even was a host and worked my way up to being a server at the Olive Garden, while being diagnosed. There was literally nothing wrong with me, but all because a highly respected psychiatrist at UCI Hospital in Orange, California, named Dr. Novac, diagnosed me as schizophrenic, I believed that I was for 5 years, until I was rediagnosed as schizoaffective in 2015, "because I was doing so well". Then, fast forward to 2024, they rediagnose me as schizoaffective bipolar type, switch meds that were working great, then they start loading me up with more and more meds after I told them that I'm doing great. Fast forward to two weeks ago, I "fired" my nurse practitioner and got a new nurse practitioner. She diagnosed me with ptsd (even though I don't get flashbacks), but we are currently on the way toward weaning off of like 4-6 medications, which I'm very happy about.
So, we'll see how this all goes.
