Wouldn't it be misleading if you didn't say it since you claimed that Jesus used it to illustrate "For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God"?

Oh, so you were saying that the lost sheep can find their own way back into the fold without the good shepherd? If the shepard acknowledges the LORD in all his way then the LORD shall lead his path, yet if the shepherd claims that the LORD hears sinners then the ninety nine sheep are lost since the gospel is hid from their shepherd who forgot to count himself as one of the sheep.

Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth. John 9:31

I am not saying I use the Lord prayer. I am saying the religious person as the Son of man Jesus used it as the appropriate manner praying to the father who is in secret. And not like those there that apposed that manner but sought after being seen by men as the reward. Prayer is very private with two walking together in a agreement .It is how we can seek after the approval of our living God not seen according to His loving commandment .
 
I think we need to be careful about thinking just because we ask forgoiveness God will just show great mercy and remove all ramifications because we are very remoursefull.

David showed grat humility and remouse for his great sins, Yet the ramifications of those sins were not removed. He suffered greatly for those sins.

Prayer is talking to our Father, It is going and asking for requests. Confessing our sins to him, Asking for help. Asking for God to help others, and thanking him for what he has done for us (gratitude)

he wants us to pray to him as an Abba Father, ie, as we would have a discussion with our earthly father whom we love.

This question simply doesn't compute with me. On a human, logical, reasoning approach maybe. Paul addresses those that accuse the brethren in this fashion with some pretty harsh words in Romans 3:8. (Not saying you have done this. I don't think you are accusing, but merely asking)

A tree bears the fruit of an apple. That apple may have a worm in it, or a spot that needs to be cut out, but it's STILL an apple. How can it act and be like an orange?

So we are BORN AGAIN. A NEW creation, with a NEW heart. We are now intrinsically His Children. We will need discipline and correction, but we REMAIN His Child.

So if we are His Child, we will be transformed into the likeness of His Son. HE, will do what is necessary to prevent us from living any way our flesh wants.

Amen! I think the issue is pride. We do not wish to take ourselves out of the equation, We have to feel we had a part. Or we have to water down the law (sin) so far we do not even feel we have sinned to begin with (at least not these grave sins like these murderers or sexual perverts)

Its human nature (Or should I say sin nature) which sounds so good. So good in fact so many fall for it.

I sinned, I shoud pay for my own sins, No one else should have to pay for my mistakes.

It infiltrated the jews, it infiltrated the church, and it infiltrates our cultures..

I see your point, but, remember, you don't believe in Free Will.......and I do......so....... :)

And, no, I have no, am not accusing anyone of anything..........just trying to determine exactly how someone who believes they do not have to/should do ........... ask forgiveness for sins they commit after salvation. Like today, tomorrow......whatever.......

Not even trying to link the two together, although some are...........separate and apart from salvation........just dealing with an individuals daily walk with Christ.

I believe just as you do in that statement........with the caveat that we all have free will........and can really, really screw things up if we desire to. You would have to go back to our other discussion to understand/know of which believers I think would do this.....and why I would not use "saved" rather "sanctified."

I know this guy has me on ignore. But I would just like to call him out in front of everyone for slandering a brother. This is a low blow. And nonsense. And I hope who he can see call him out for this. Because this is just wrong. .

Well I would agree with you that we in the eternal security group, do sometimes assign motives that aren't there. On a personal note, seeing how destructive it was to me in thinking a born again believer could lose salvation, I tend to put a lot of things under the eternal security lens that shouldn't necessarily be there.

Perhaps we all need to spend more time on the things that ACCOMPANY salvation. Thanks for your patience and understanding in unraveling some of our responses.

As for free will? I'm NOT a fan of it, whether we have it or not. I KNOW my will is to desire to sin every time. I freely GIVE my will to the Father, and ask that He only put the desire of HIS Will in my heart.

I will just leave it at that.

I agree, we need to show some grace, But even god calls us to chasten our brothers when they do wrong.
