My all time favorite band is Pearl Jam. I have listened to them 1000's of times. I honestly could not re-site one chorus from one song.So I like, learned something about myself today, and decided to buy metallica, 'master of puppets'. I haven't heard it in years.
I feel like I am doing something bad.
But it's not like I am leaving God or anything, I just want to hear it.

Just listen to some instrumentals if you wanna go heavy. Stream of consciousness- Dream Theater. You can't go wrong lolSo I like, learned something about myself today, and decided to buy metallica, 'master of puppets'. I haven't heard it in years.

check the lyrics of every tune. metallica may be serving the devil, i don't know. back in 1990, i wasn't a Christian until 2 years later, i threw out all my records that i knew were on the evil side. once, i saw acdc playing to an outdoor crowd at a huge stadium & i saw the devil's horns up top each speaker column!! that did it for me, no more acdc. plus, other bands, i won't listen too. sometimes i'll check out a band that's metal or hard rock just to listen to the extreme virtuosity & talent of the musicians. remember that the devil was the boss of music & he uses music super big time to sway people.
millions will assent to the kashmir riff as tops. but pagey certainly was fooling with evil ways. the riff may have been devil influenced. He was talented by God to play the guitar for sure. he was a top studio musician before the yardbirds & zeppelin.Yeah, I threw out all my records back in the early 90s cause that's what good Christians were supposed to do. I probably would have done that anyway because we do that as we get older and our taste in things changes.
I listen to metal, but not all of it. My reasons are because many of their lyrics come from the heart, they come from where people are at in their lives. I also listen to metal because I enjoy a good guitar riff. I don't think there is a better riff than the one in "Kashmir". That one may be the greatest ever!
A lot of what I listen to now comes from sound garden, pearl jam, and a few others from the 90s. My current favorites are " Even Flow by Pearl Jam" and "Spoon man by Sound garden".

Good for in! I'm with u there . Love all kinds of music from Abba to Warren Zevon . Music has the ability to cheer me up and energize me and it often expresses things that I cannot , it's a daily joy to me . All talent is God given and God uses many things and ways to help cheer us up and get us through life in these awful kingdoms of men . I'm also a film fan , we have many hundreds on dvd , I also enjoy TV comedy shows and I thank God for inventing our sense of humour ! It really is essential in this lifeLooking through my mp3 player, it's 100% secular music. Mostly 90s alternative, classic rock, and rockabilly/horror surf music.
This has gotten me grief from Christians over the years. Has that stopped me from listening to my choice music? No. I listen to it more lol.
