I came across this when I was two(in Christian years), and was amazed at how God has an answer for everything.

the Devil quoted "For it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest any time thou dash thy foot against a stone"

Children and it was mother bears and the reason was because they mocked Ezekiel.
I guess I was half right again but it was Elisha instead of Ezekiel,I tend to get the 3 mixed up,Elijah,Elisha, and Ezekiel.

Very, good! Psalm 91:11 & 12. Any thoughts on the next verse?

When the devil was tempting Jesus, he quoted scripture. What two verses did he quote? And what's significant in the next verse after those two?

I think the answer(s) is in Matthew 4:1-11

Whew! Didy, this is a hard one!

Okay, so tell me if I'm understanding the question right.......

The devil quoted scripture when the he (devil) was tempting Jesus.

Q #1 - What two verses did the devil quote to tempt Jesus?

Answer ?

Q #2 - And, what is really important in the next verse after what the devil quotes?

Answer - "It is written!"

I'm still working on this. It's all I got so far. Thanks for your patience!!! :o

These questions are getting too hard, how about Didy and NotmebutHim tell us the answers before we all get a really bad brain overload!! LOL! :D

My apologies; I misread your earlier question.
As to the next verse, the devil is called, or compared to, both a "lion" and a "serpent". How ironic... ;)

FANTASTIC!!! Excellent Answer!!

Very interesting .................. a lion and a serpent! So true, the devil is like both!

I had fun today with all of you! Time to go feed my Lion. Will sneak back in later!:)

But, I will leave you with a few easy questions! :)

1 - Who was Jesus' father?

2 - Who was Jesus' mother?

3 - Where was Jesus born?

Enjoy! Have fun! :)
