WOW! Where do you get a pack that size!


it's okay. Made me want to go get some. We were given some back in the Thanksgiving/New Years time frame. It was surprisingly very good. Don't think too much of it made it onto crackers or anything we were too impatient to wait for it to soften up enough to spread.

Something tells me you're UK too and if that's your year of birth, you and my eldest lad are the same age. =)
Do love Boursin with garlic and herbs, really love it, if it makes it to crackers, i like Jacobs sour cream and chives savoury crackers. They literally melt in the mouth and sometimes act as a cherry on top, think you'll know what i mean

Amusing about the cheese and wondering if the US is still pretty self sufficient in producing your own food? We need imported food and i call what we're getting frankenfood now, for example grapes look like mini melons! Seriously!
Food tastes so wrong and lasts so long it makes me wonder what on earth they're preserving it with. So glad i now know the Lord will sort it all out when the time is right, or i'd really despair for the future of my children. However, at least Boursin with garlic and herbs still tastes good

Why I found this thread now.. now, that soon, maybe tomorrow, I have to go to a grocery store. And I am on a cheese strike! I eat only rubbery one now, to wean myself off I want my cheddar back! Gotta go eyes closed when I pass the cheese aisle and keep my hands in my pockets.. I remember where my cheeses are!!

But I do have some squeeky cheese (finnish bread cheese) in my freezer (not ideal to freeze, I know, but...), I should make some cloudberry jam for my afternoon coffee break. mmm.. heat that cheese up, add that jam..

Because I eat too much cheese, if I allow myself, and if I have good cheese in my fridge, it is not there for long.. so I have to go to get new one(s) pretty soon.

Oh no, peanutbutter has more fat than cheese... I could not let the mice loose their fatty source of energy! that means, cheese is better, so I can eat it again with a good intent?

Oh, what type of peanut butter you eat? Salted, natural, what else there even is? How do you eat it? I might be willing to try it if given a good idea how to eat it..



It might be sunset clouds, as it is orange but also hail clouds, as it has seeds... at least when I make it, nothing goes to waste, not even the seeds!

You know what's funny...

I think Nutella is supposed to be a combination of chocolate and hazelnut?

I love chocolate. I like some hazelnut things, like coffee. But for some reason, I've never liked Nutella.

It's like the flavors together are too weak, or dilute each other so much that I can't taste either one, and the mutant flavor they've mashed together just isn't my thing!

LOL!!! Well when you're feeding them yummy things like peanut butter and Nutella, they're probably just sticking around to see what's next on the menu, all while raising up flocks (herds? tribes?) of new baby mice along the way.

They're holding out for you to give up that cheddar cheese!

you need a nursery with mice... I think she had ninety mice at one point. And then...

I am so horrified by the thought of this that I was barely able to engage the "laughing emoji" on your post!!

I'm fortunate to have only had suspicion/proof a mouse's presence once. I agonized over which type of traps to buy. I didn't really want to have to face a tiny little body smashed into a wooden plank by its neck. But I was also too traumatized by catching it live and letting it go, only so it could continue to cause its rodent ruckus.

I dutifully settled on plain old-fashioned traps, baited them with peanut butter (not because I consider cheese to be the equivalent of solid gold like @Tazzo , but because I reasoned that peanut butter took effort, coaxing the victim to stay in place rather than pulling a snatch'n'go.)

I even tied the traps to the cupboard doors with string, having read too many horror stories of mice running off with traps, hiding in some place not meant for humans to find, then causing a stench that could never be fully removed after passing on to that great mouse maze in the sky.

I even recruited a friend to come over and dispose of the trap whenever the furry little perp was caught.

But wouldn't you know it!

I totally underestimated that mouse, as I found the trap COMPLETELY LICKED CLEAN of peanut butter -- but with NOT SO MUCH as even a slight snap of the trap. It was otherwise totally intact. ARGH!!!

Since this was under the sink and there was some space around the pipe and the floorboard, I promptly sealed up any such spaces with duct tape, in both the kitchen and the bathroom.

I never saw evidence of a mouse again, but seeing as the one I was battling wits with was so darn clever, I'm kind of glad I never actually met it face to face.

Even seeing a horde of the little vermin sealed in glass cages at the pet store makes my skin crawl.

In one of my "basic" behavioral psychology classes, we each were assigned a white lab rat with red eyes and a body that was about 2/3 the length of my forearm, with a long pink tail that hung off my wrist.

I was MORTIFIED the first day of class. The instructor was like, "Ok, go get your rat," and I FROZE.

I called the little guy Squeak because I must have squeezed him a little too hard out of sheer anxiety, and the poor little thing let out a few squeaks to save his life.

After that, I brought in a pair of rubber gloves -- I was the only student to do so; yes, I'm a big chicken -- but at least I found it bearable.

And must have loosened up my grip, as I never heard Squeak squeak again in my presence.
