The occupation just perpetuates the violence.
They are not occupied, and I've posted before reasons why this isn't true. I will post again if need be. Myths perpetuate violence too.
The United States supports national determination. Israel needs to help create a democratic Palestinian nation with which they can have a close cooperative peace and prosperity with. Every situation they could try would have risks, but this would be the right thing to do, with the best chance of success.
You're fooling yourself. Israel has been trying for peace since 48. They have offered land for peace and four times been turned down. They have done more than required of them. Clinton even said you can't work with Palestinians when they turned down his offer. There was a two state solution offered in 48, the Arabs turned it down. And Israel wasn't even obligated to do that much. But they have and been turned down. Besides I don't believe God will allow it. He gave the land to the Jews. It's never changed.
Israel tried to make a peace deal to create a Palestinian State, but the talks failed. The PLO should have accepted the deal, even though they didn't get everything they wanted.
Umm humm Israel wiped off the map.
Once personal bonds between the people grow much larger, and Israel knows they can trust them, the new state can get more sovereignty. "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God." Mat 5:9. Over the years the polls have fluctuated, but a majority of Israelis and Palestinians support the two peaceful states.
No, Israel is under no obligation whatsoever. They have offered again and again. Arafat was handed the most choice deal and still walked away. At that point, it's on them. If I offer you half of my lunch and you say no why would I ask you again. But say I did and said you could half my milk too. And you still said no. And then I said you could have half my lunch, all of my milk and the money in my pocket and you said no. At what point do people think is enough for Israel to beg for peace?! If I offer once and you say no, I am not obligated to ask again. Arabs should have taken the land offered in 48. They didn't, that's on them not Israel.
