Pancakes are made from batter, French Toast is basically made from slices of bread dipped in an egg mixture. Totally different. Both are good though. I put maple sappy on my hotcakes.

Doesn't it taste eggy though? I dont like the raw eggy flavour but pancakes with maple syrup sounds nice.

I put a couple dashes of nutmeg in my beaten egg mixture. with a tablespoon or so with milk. Before beating the mixture add a 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla. Thoroughly coat each piece of bread in the egg mixture. Cook a few minutes in oil or until golden brown, flip, and then brush butter on top of the cooked side. Sprinkle with sugar. After about 2 minutes flip again and fry the butter and sugar coating. for about a minute. This will make a yummy caramelize topping. I always put berries on mine with whipped cream.
I cut my bread into 1" slices. Use 1 egg for each piece and 1 extra egg for entire mixture. So, 2 pieces of French Toast would have a total of 3 eggs.
This is one luscious dessert breakfast for sure. I am sure that you will enjoy this concoction. I used to make this for my daughter every Saturday morning when she was growing up. Now, she makes it the same way for her children.
I like mousetraps...cheese and egg mixture on toast and grilled.
I dont know of I can tolerate eating a lot of sugar as Im looking after my teeth...I mean french toast sounds nice but I probably would not put sugar on it.
I do like omlettes though. Most of the time if I'm having eggs on toast I just scramble the egg and have it with toast and butter and some parsely.
Pikelets and scones with cream and jam are more sunday brunch breakfasts or morning tea treats..as they are quick and easy to make.
I think the whole baking thing is you have to set aside a lot of time to do it and most people just dont have the luxury of time.

I seem to be challenged in the purchase of hash browns from the grocery store. Or maybe, just incompetent at grocery shopping. This goes back a few years.
Twice, I neglected to get them even though they were on the top of my shopping list. Once, thinking that I put them in the shopping cart, time I got home they morphed into a bag of French fries. Another time, I neglected to bring them in from the car and the heat inside destroyed them.
A few weeks ago, my wife asked where I had placed them in the freezer which, generally is a bit of a mess. Of course, they weren't there. Yeah, left in the car again, in a plastic Walmart bag, along with 2 Banquet meal bowls. Found them 2 weeks later. Destroyed.
Now, hopefully this is not the start of a trend, but I forgot the bag of navy beans for this morning's grocery shopping. They were on the list too. Or maybe it was supposed to be pinto beans. Not really quite sure at this point as I threw the list away and it is buried in the trash can. No worry, though. I am sure that my darling will put the beans at the top of my honey-buy list. Probably followed by a few exclamation points.
I did get the Oreos though, 2 packs, original and lemon so I will probably merit a couple brownie points in her eyes. It will off-set the demerits for the bean fiasco.
My wife is really a good sport about my shopping misadventures. She's a hot potato for sure.

what, dont you have a chilly bin in your boot/trunk and immediately put things away when you do a shop?
Also take a shopping list. Write items down. tick or cross things off when you buy them. If you cant do sums in your head, take a calculator.
Sorry cant help but give advice Im being a mum. Works for me though. Shopping then is not an exercise in temptation. Its not like I go shopping and tell the supermarket to empty my wallet, I will just buy anything.

That chilly bin idea is worth pursuing. Or maybe a few hot / cold insulated shopping bags.
Once home, I immediately carry the bags into the house and put them away n the appropriate places. What happen previously, there was a lot of stuff one trip and I had to place a bag in the back seat because lack of space in the trunk and totally forgot about it. I typically only place the groceries into the trunk, even being careful not to smash the bread. Except last month when I placed a heavy item on top of a loaf and flattened it.
On occasions I do use a calculator to stay within budge but usually can do the sums in my head. I do take a shopping list but don't tick things off once they go into the cart Maybe my wife will be ticked off at me. Or not.
Based on what you have said I conclude that you are a savvy shopper. You probably use coupons too. You have good ideas worth implementing. Safe travels on your next shopping adventure.
My dad just buys the same things over and over, he's not great at buying fresh produce hasnt got the eye for it. Mum will only buy what she will use to cook. Dads cooking skills are not great, he will eat burnt eggs. I stay out of the kitchen for risk of being yelled at, but when am on my own I will fix things. I make a terrible apprentice and mum is disappointed in me.

Its probably cos in mums culture they had Kitchen Gods they had to appease. I wondered why Jesus said dont eat food sacrificed to idols but seems like mum wanted to fatten me up or something. Anyway theres not much I can do about it. If making a mess, I have to clean it up.

Shopping well I grew up in shopping culture though I dont really like it. They say the brits are 'nation of shopkeepers' but its american style bulk shopping warehouses that has tried to take over everything here. Cousin has been sucked into the whole cost-co hype.

Personally, my favorite is Papa John's. Domino's is good too. Unfortunately, now living in a small town in Tennessee and not Florida, neither is in this area. We do have a Pizza Hut though, and a Little Caesar's. Florida has every chain restaurant imaginable in thousands of locations.
I do the same thing, same stuff with a few new items thrown on the list. I'm not a bad cook though. Made French toast this morning with strawberries from our garden.
around here, at least years ago, domino's was the last choice for pizza.
I don't rate it very high either but where I live, besides Pizza Hut, there are not any other options.
