It's because they can't think of anything else. So they take potshots at peoples personal issues, rather than jokes about America, because that's all they have.

Thats true, plus it's also a stand out cultural issue that the rest of the world can see that we can poke a stick at.

Which, in many cases, involves people with legit medical conditions that prevent them from losing weight. Like i know for a fact describes some people on these forums. But hey, you need to make jokes at others expense in a thread not even aimed at you, who cares if your remarks could be personally hurtful, rather than silly jokes about a country. You have every right to show yourself to be that kind of person.
