Some have even held onto the replacement theology. Jesus teaches and gives us examples of the kingdom of God.
Some like you say how can God recognize a people that does not recognize his son? God answered this through his prophet saying it was not of any merit found in the jews but for his name sake .Gods name sake. He said he would do it and he has.
Look at us now talking about Israel the focus is on Israel. God has the world's attention. Be it good or bad he has our attention.
As we see in the scriptures everything happens in the land of Israel primarily Jerusalem.
