Firstly, the last part of that verse is not a good translation. It means God will not abandon the inheritance he has given them.
Secondly, only those of faith inherit the promises.
And God was faithful to that promise until it was fulfilled in Christ, the seed of David, whom God promised would rule forever.

That part is a struggle for some understanding it’s not the children of the flesh of Abraham that are the hiers but those of the faith of Abraham they are the promised seed of inheritance only in Christ who is aBrahmans seed of promise and sole hier of God his only begotten is the hier and then everyone in him becomes one with him and so becomes an hier of Abraham through faith not through dna or flesh and blood lineage but of faith

Israel doesn't have defensive or strategic depth. If Iran had good air defense they could utterly obliterate Israel with it's missiles.
