OK, but I still have the same question.![]()
Seems we might be. Thanks for answering.
OK, but I still have the same question.![]()
- Truth vs legalism
- Grace vs Condemnation
- God's ability to keep you vs My ability to keep me
- Sanctification vs judgment
The answer to the battle of sin in ones life is Jesus.
Dear Father I come to you in thr Name of Jesus. Forgive me for running from your presence when sin is in my life . Allowing the pleasure of sin to take place in my heart and seperate me from you. Forgive me for thinking and acting like you can not see my very action of disobediance and making exuses to continue in the sin that I have willfully did . Not wanting to recieve correction and ran from your word, fellowship and Holy Spirit. Forgive me for greieving your Holy Spirit and not obeying your word and following the Holy Spirits leading me into all Truth. I come to you now asking to be forgiven, restored and walk in the victory you have made for me. Not in my own ability but by your word and seperating myself unto you seeking your face and not just your hand. That you will create in my a clean heart one that desires you and to be in your Holy Presence eveyday . To call on you when the heat of spitiual battle is upon me and cry out to you and run to you for help and protection , not to run from you in shame and condemnation. Santify me O Lord and make my heart, eyes, hears and hands and feet all persue you as if today is the only day I have. I believe if I do this you will answer me becuase you love me and I am yours. In Jesus name I pray amen.
- CS1 ... Brother ... You spoke much Truth here in your posts. I read it, trying to figure out whether you are a Grace Only Christian, rather than a " ... saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, as revealed in Scripture alone, to the glory of God alone." Christians.
This "Christian forum" has a very distinct split of Commandment keepers, having the Faith of Jesus, Rev. 14:12 versus "Those saying The Commandments ( obedience) is legalism, and is done away with, nailed to the cross, ... we are Saved By Grace Alone, Christians.
So PLEASE help me here ... As I found your first post a bit ambiguous, with you not mentioning, " the Faith of Jesus and His Righteousness" . So I'm wishing, a "Statement of Faith" so to speak, as to which side of the SPLIT you are on?
In your second post you pray, "Forgive me for thinking and acting like you can not see my very action of disobedience and making excuses to continue in the sin that I have willfully did " ... which is very much like what I often pray, in conjunction with " Forgive me for my lust of the flesh, lust of the eye and pride of life." 1 John 2:16 my sin, being lack of love for God and my neighbors, Luke 10:27 , God's Commandments, Exo 20
Please clarify for us, which side you are on? ( God is judging us, as to which side we are on.) Are you obedient to keeping God's 10 Commandments, and the Faith of Jesus, by Loving God, with all you heart, mind and soul and loving your neighbor as yourself, OR lawlessness 1 John 3:4, disobedient, because you think, God's Grace ALONE saves you, in your sin.
A Sabbath Keeper or a Sunday Keeper, is a good indication, of which side you are on, in obedience, or lawlessness. Thank you for being honest, in advance.
I'm on the side of the truth, as Jesus said HE is the Only Way, the only Truth, and the only Life.
You have said you are battling, and the only side that matters to me IS you having complete victory in Christ.
There is not that side or this side. There is only ONE side that is through Jesus Christ our lord and His word.
The word of God says: You who are spiritual restore one weak in faith. Should that not be the only side? to see the winning one of all believers?
I was wrong to not remember your underlying agenda. As you assume, one is not saved. AS you say:You are ambiguous, in this nature of life, ... as we ALL ARE prone to be, which is this "carnal nature", sinful nature, that we find ourselves experiencing day to day ... Friend, IF we have not been "born again" and converted, into the newness of life, which is IN Jesus Christ and His Righteousness, we will NOT be saved, WILL NOT inherit Heaven with Jesus and will be DESTROYED at the SOON coming of His brightness.
The administration of Justice, the Judgement, of our Merciful, Loving God;
We are continually torn between God's side representing righteousness, truth, and salvation. = The Righteousness of Christ
- 2 Thessalonians 2:8 explicitly mentions “the brightness of his coming” as the means by which the wicked are destroyed.
- 2 Peter 3:10‑12 and Revelation 1:7 describe the overall cosmic destruction and universal visibility of Christ’s return.
- Matthew 13:39‑40 illustrates the final burning of the wicked at the close of the age.
AND, Satan's side represents rebellion, deception, and destruction. = SIN = disobedience to God
- Bible Verses:
- Revelation 12:7-9: "And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, and prevailed not; neither was their place found anymore in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him."
- Isaiah 14:12-14: This passage, although often attributed to the fall of Lucifer, describes the exaltation of God and the ultimate triumph of His truth and goodness.
- Revelation 19:11-16: "And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war."
"This cosmic conflict ultimately boils down to choosing sides. Jesus’ call to love Him and keep His commandments is a call to align ourselves with His side—where truth, righteousness, and eternal life reign. By choosing to love Jesus and obey His commandments, believers actively participate in the spiritual battle, resisting the forces of evil that seek to lead them away from God’s ways. This obedience is a practical demonstration of love for Jesus, and it signals allegiance to His side, which will ultimately prevail in the cosmic conflict."
- Bible Verses:
- Isaiah 14:12-15: These verses describe the pride and fall of Lucifer (Satan), illustrating his rebellion against God.
- Ezekiel 28:14-19: This passage speaks of the anointed cherub (Lucifer), his perfection, pride, and eventual downfall due to sin and rebellion.
- John 8:44: "Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him."
- Revelation 12:4: "And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth."
The “faith of Jesus” is not something we achieve through our own striving. It is a gift of the Holy Spirit given at the moment of genuine conversion “being born again” This faith includes a deep, personal assurance that Jesus is the Son of God and that His sacrifice guarantees salvation. Because the Faith of Jesus is imparted at conversion, the believer can immediately rely on that faith for guidance, comfort, and strength, rather than having to build it up gradually over time, in their spiritual journey. ( Sanctification as you referenced)
CS1 ? ... as you recently commented, “As already noted, baptism is not a requirement for salvation in the first place.”, I hope and pray that you don't STILL hold to this sentiment, as this is promoting allegiance to the Dark Side, of this Cosmic Conflict, according to The Word of God.
We have many who say they can't or won't stop sinning even to when Jesus appears at the Second Coming. Are we able to overcome or not?
When the Bible says let "he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: ' does this mean we can stay full of iniquity?
Revelation 22:11
He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
If we keep sinning will Christ make us sinless at the end when we are changed 'in the twinkling of an eye'? Is this verse referring only to our mortal bodies of flesh, or also our sinful lives?
1 Corinthians 15:52
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
What does the Bible teach?
As Christ said 'Repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand...'I did a search on the meaning of Revelation 22:11 and I think BibleRef gave a good explanation:
What does Revelation 22:11 mean?
The angel said to John: "Let the evildoer still do evil, and the filthy still be filthy, and the righteous still do right, and the holy still be holy" (Revelation 22:11). The point being made here is not that evil is to be encouraged. Rather, the angel's words are a statement of inevitability: people can do as they choose, but God will not change His plans.
In the context of death and the end times, this is a dire warning. Unbelievers who reject the gospel do not receive a second chance to be saved if they die. Eternity does not change anyone's status. The person who dies in an unsaved condition will be unsaved throughout eternity, and the saved person will be saved throughout eternity.
When Jesus returns, He will reward the righteous but punish the unrighteous. Daniel 12:10 states that in the end time "Many shall purify themselves and make themselves white and be refined, but the wicked shall act wickedly." Someday it will be too late for the unsaved to change their destination by repenting and believing in Jesus. Hebrews 3:15 implores: "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts."

well, kinda, but more I think in a sense that things don't bind us anymore. not that we dont sin, that jesus covers the sin, so we don't have to be hating ourselves for it anymore. The blood of Jesus Christ God's Son cleanses us from all sin. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 1John1:7
1john 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
1John 5:1Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God.
1John 5:5Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
1John5:18 We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.
We don't commit any sin once we are saved because Jesus washes away our sin. not because we are perfect and never make a mistake or always do everything right and perfect. Once we are born again, we cannot sin. We are born again by believing in Jesus. We have overcome the world i.e.ur sins and sinful nature etc. by believing in Jesus. Not by doing good or having good works.

Mat 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
Eph 5:27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
2Pe 3:14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
Rom 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
1Jn 5:4-5 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. 5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
to the 7 churches in Rev 1-3
Rev 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
To him that overcometh.....
Rom 6:1-2 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
Phi 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
By Christ we can overcome all sin.
Perfection is a promise not a burden. It is obedience. Obedience is possible by love and faith. Jesus came to give us the complete victory over sin. To give us the gift of salvation over sin.
It is not just forgiveness and taking away our guilt. He will take away our guilt and give us the victory over sin.
1Co 1:30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
1Th 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
To clean us and free us of our past guilt or sin, only so we can continue to sin in the future is not God's plan..
Imparted righteousness is to free us from sins today and tomorrow. By His power we can " go and sin no more".
Mat 9:28-29 And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord. 29 Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.
