We have many who say they can't or won't stop sinning even to when Jesus appears at the Second Coming. Are we able to overcome or not?

When the Bible says let "he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: ' does this mean we can stay full of iniquity?

Revelation 22:11
He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.

If we keep sinning will Christ make us sinless at the end when we are changed 'in the twinkling of an eye'? Is this verse referring only to our mortal bodies of flesh, or also our sinful lives?

1 Corinthians 15:52
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

What does the Bible teach?

You must not keep willfully sinning while having faith in God; but there's a difference between breaking the law to do good and comitting lawlessness to fulfill lust.
A wicked man is someone who is willfully treacherous towards God and his neighbor, and a righteous man is someone who willfully loves God and his neighbor. The former won't inheret the kingdom.

We put on the righteousness of Christ...

Righteousness-Of-Christ.png

Righteousness Of Christ ~ “The work of God is this: to believe in the One He has sent.” You were dead in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, in which you used to walk when you conformed to the ruler of the power of the air, the spirit who is now at work in the sons of disobedience. The Son gives life to whom He is pleased to give it. If Christ is in you, your spirit is alive because of righteousness. We put on the righteousness of Christ.

Jesus didn't come to save us in sin
He didn't just come to cover up our sins.

He came to free us and save us from sin.

Nothing evil will dwell in heaven.

All sin will be destroyed. If you are hanging on to sin you will be destroyed with it.

We need to surrender all..

Breaking the chains of sin by reading the Bible daily, worshiping and praying . You will make mistakes because we fall short of the glory of God. When we humble ourselves to the Heavenly Father his mercy , grace and Jesus Christ who shed is blood for all of our sins.
Trust in Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and he will direct your path.

What does the Bible teach?

Yes, with God it is possible, and the victory is already won for those who are credited as sharing the righteousness of Christ because
of their saving faith in him as Lord (Romans 3:21-5:1), which means repenting of sin (John 3:16, Matt. 7:20, Eph. 2:8-9, Acts 16:30-31, etc.) and wanting to allow God's Holy Spirit to love everyone more and more through us (Rom. 5:5, Eph. 3:16-19, John 13:35, 1John 4:7-21, etc.) as we grow toward spiritual maturity/moral perfection (Phil. 3:12-16, Eph. 4:11-24) in heaven.

What did Paul say? I do what I hate and hate what I do? Paraphrased of course. Any here greater than Paul? I think not. They murdered the only one I know of that was without sin. Although some claim to be.

Not sure who claims to be without sin, but I have encountered a few who talk as though their interpretation of GW is infallible--
as though they hope to be Pope.

What does the Bible teach?
not on earth. in heaven, yes. 1 of the "sneaky" sins is the beginning of entertaining sin in a subconscious state, then you "wake up", realize you are guilty of it, then you apply wisdom & stop.

What does the Bible teach?

First and foremost "God loves you" period, God sees us all as worthy of Love, what, but I just did it again, and I do not want to and yet do it anyways! Teach me new Lord, I trust somehow you will.
That be Romans 7 telling you all about the troubles in being under Law to do to be in and get in, which no other flesh can do , but Son's flesh that did it once for us all. It is time to uphold Law and not be under Law anymore. Romans 3
What? Yes he went to that cross willingly for everyone, not a few, for us all. That is now done by Son in that willing death, he took on all sin unto himself for all people, born of man and woman to be forever reconciled first to Father. That is done as said is John 19:30 as he claimed to do that in Matthew 5:17. Now done at that cross once for us all.
All that is left is to believe God in Risen Son for you personally too, between God and you. Then the new begins in you, the risen Son working through you in Father's Spirit and Truth for you too.
Tell, God and begin to see new
First believe God Eph 1:13, be sealed by God Father in risen Son to see new
Eph 1:6-7 Accepted by God, forgiven by God
Wow, woe is me Isaiah 6:1-7
Believe God personally, stand in that even when go through troubles here on earth too, even as Job did in the book of Job, not denying God at all, Now deeper in the perfect Son Jesus for you to be reckoned as if never sinned
Col 1:21-23 amazing thank you Father and son as Won (One) for us all, Thank you over and over and over again and again

What does the Bible teach?

I did a search on the meaning of Revelation 22:11 and I think BibleRef gave a good explanation:

What does Revelation 22:11 mean?
The angel said to John: "Let the evildoer still do evil, and the filthy still be filthy, and the righteous still do right, and the holy still be holy" (Revelation 22:11). The point being made here is not that evil is to be encouraged. Rather, the angel's words are a statement of inevitability: people can do as they choose, but God will not change His plans.

In the context of death and the end times, this is a dire warning. Unbelievers who reject the gospel do not receive a second chance to be saved if they die. Eternity does not change anyone's status. The person who dies in an unsaved condition will be unsaved throughout eternity, and the saved person will be saved throughout eternity.

When Jesus returns, He will reward the righteous but punish the unrighteous. Daniel 12:10 states that in the end time "Many shall purify themselves and make themselves white and be refined, but the wicked shall act wickedly." Someday it will be too late for the unsaved to change their destination by repenting and believing in Jesus. Hebrews 3:15 implores: "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts."

The Gospel!
Which answers your question with,YES!

The answer is no. Its not possible to be sinless on this side of heaven. The bible says if we say we have no sin we are liars and the truth of God is not in us.

I found another article at Verse By Verse Commentary about Revelation 22:11 that also had a good explanation:

“He who is unjust, let him be unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who is righteous, let him be righteous still; he who is holy, let him be holy still [yet more].”

How can a just God encourage an unjust person to continue being unjust? The idea is that if people do not respond to the prophecy of the Book of Revelation, they are mired in negative volition and have no hope beyond this. Those who make the positive choice to receive Christ look forward to His coming. God can say no more. We must make a decision. There comes a point when God gives us up to ourselves.

As we are when we die, so shall we be forever. If we die without Christ, we will be without Christ forever. If I die a Christian, I will be a Christian in eternity. There is no second chance. There is no possibility of becoming a Christian after we die.

There is no purgatory where God will purge our sins. This is a solemn fact we must all face. Once we cross the line, there is no going back. We only have this life to make our decision for Christ. We must make that decision on this side of the grave. We can only come to Christ in time, not eternity. No line in the Bible gives us hope beyond the grave if we do not make our decision for Christ while we are alive.

Principle:

If we reject the truth of the Bible, there is no other truth to which we can turn.

Application:

If we reject the Bible, God has nothing more to say to us. God’s truth has no middle ground. The issue of salvation is black or white. Salvation is mutually exclusive. There are only two classes of men: the saved and the lost.

This verse is a terrible truth on the one hand and a blessed situation on the other. As God finds us when Christ comes back, so shall we ever be in eternity.

It is more than possible to have victory over sinning on a moment by moment basis.
1 John 1:7 states,
"If we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus Christ His son CLEANSES US FROM ALL SIN".
Note it is ALL SIN, inward depravity as well as outward transgressions.
As one abides in Christ we can live without sin.

Romans 6:6 " Knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, THAT WE SHOULD NO LONGER BE SLAVES TO SIN".

1John 2:1 " My little children, these things I write to you, SO THAT YOU MAY NOT SIN".

Christianity is no sinning religion. Christ came to save His people from ( not in ) their sins.

The Bible says that Jesus will present us Blameless before The Father. No Sin. I hear many say that we must strive to be Christ Like, I dont think its possible with a sin Nature that dwells in Flesh. Looks like we need a final transformation that rids us of our Body. Redemption The Dead In Christ first, then we which are alive, caught up Gathered together. When we are Face to Face we shall be like Him. The "Deposit" is Paid but Im still in "Escrow". Jesus will close the Deal soon and the Wedding Feast will begin.

What does the Bible teach?

I think Rev. 22:11 means that any person who is filthy now and up until the time of Jesus' return has permission to remain filthy and bear the consequences during the time of the millennium. And the one who is righteous now and up until the time of Jesus' return has permission to remain righteous into the millennium. It is simply presenting now as a time of free choice for mankind, and the time of Jesus' return as a crisis point that a decision must finally be made by all regarding whether they will willingly trust and serve Jesus or not.

The word translated in 1 Cor. 15:52 is aphtartos, a- is a prefix meaning not, and phthartos is an adjective meaning corrupt. Something can be not corrupt but become corrupt later, as were Adam and Eve, for instance. Yes, we will become "not corrupt" at the resurrection, but that does not at all guarantee that we can never depart from incorruption ever again. 1 Cor. 15:52 does not seem to me to support a guarantee of endless perfection.
