Paul preached " Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again" as the gospel.

1 Corinthians 15: 3,4.

It was offensive then and still is today to many that hear it.

Gal 5:11 And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.

Paul said " if I preach circumcision... "

If he had preached the law he would be fine.

Because he preached the cross he suffered persecution.

How many preach a prosperity gospel today?
How many preach to please men with a non offensive gospel?

I have heard many man made gospel's in my time.

None of them was offensive, none of them were Paul's gospel.

This is an amazing verse :

1Co_1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

When I preach the gospel I get different responses, some are downright nasty, and some just don't want to know, they could not care less.
Some postpone a response, and most have trusted another gospel and cannot see the light of the gospel Paul preached because Satan deceives them.

2Co_4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

No matter the gospel is preached, it is the glorious gospel when you see its light, to know who Christ is and what He has done for us is indeed glorious.

I can rejoice in the Lord always, I hope you can too.
To the Jews [religious folk] and to the Greeks [philosophical folks] the gospel is offensive

But not to those who are saved by it.

The fuller the gospel the more offence it gives ... He became poor that we might be the riches of Christ, that is died and was buried and was raised to newness of life that He might be to us the Lord our Provider.

... that's offensive to religious folk who think it's holy to be poor.

What gospel have you believed for salvation ?
Salvation through Believing the LORD Jesus and Trusting in the Atonement He secured on the cross that paid the penalty for my transgressions..

What is the Gospel that you believed ?

1Co 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

You cannot believe in both.
1Co 15:2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

You must believe in this gospel alone for salvation. Otherwise you are adding to it your own words that are not there in the gospel
Paul received from Christ. It has to be " Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again according to the scriptures"

to be saved means to be made whole, delivered sin and from evil ...

I shared the Gospel with a muslim a few days ago.. And he was offended that Jesus would need to be killed to pay the penalty for our sins.. To him it was a stumbling stone.. An injustice.. Also he could not fathom Jesus being one with the Father and the Holy Spirit.. I do think it all boils down to the concept of Atonement.. Someone paying the penalty for another persons transgressions.. Some people think it is foolishness and others are offended.. I have found that the ones who think it is foolishness are usually atheists and the ones that are offended are religious.. In this particular case it was a religious muslim..

I believe the deeper things of the LORD.. Deeper knowledge,, is blocked from those who reject the Atonement of the LORD.. I believe God foreknows who is accepting and who is rejecting His loving truth, the Way of salvation and these people are blocked from understanding great things..

When i first discovered the Gospel message and understood the wonderful loving way the LORD saved us i thought it was only a matter of properly explaining it to others and once explained clearly enough anyone who heard it would leap for Joy and quickly embrace it.. But i was wrong.. A lot of people have the Gospel Way of salvation explained to them and they either get angry or the laugh at it.. Way too many people.. And it really hurts me to see it happening so often.. We are truly in the end times i believe.. The love of many has grown cold and Jesus lament when He asked the question of would he find Faith on earth on the day of His return really seems prophetic and accurate to me..

As in the days of Noah, so shall the day of the LORD be.. 8 Souls where saved in the Arch during the flood.. How many followers of the LORD will be preserved through the tribulation??? I hope for more then 8..
Our God is perfect, if we follow Jesus nothing can stop the truth. if we preach the gospel ,Some people think it is foolishness and others are offended, Just pray for them.
If we are laughed at, it doesn't matter. Heaven belongs to you.
Just answer yourself who will have all men to be saved ? not only 8.
In order to save the world, God can endure all people's incomprehension and ridicule, and we can do it too.

Cannot see how i cannot believe both that Jesus died for my sins and was raised on the third day..

Yes i can believe both.. And it is essential to believe Both.. I keep this in my memory..

When that scripture was given ,, That God would have all men to be saved,, It was talking against the idea that God would create some men with only one purpose ,, To be cast into the eternal lake of fire.. It was not a statement supporting universalism as some use it as support.. But we know from scriptures that many will not be saved..

Also my post was not dealing with people who do not understand the Gospel message.. It was pointing towards the many people who do understand the gospel message but still find it either evil or stupid.. These people,, If they hold onto to their rejection of the Gospel till the end of their lives will find themselves being cast into the Lake of Fire on the day of Judgement.. So while it is true God is long suffering towards us.. He is not eternally long suffering towards those who reject the Love of his truth..

Lake of fire just an option for these who know the truth but still follow evil.
I don't think anyone will play this joke with their own life. as Jesus said father forgive these who do not know what they do.
I believe most people just don't know what they do.

1Co 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
1Co 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
Scripture tells us that Christ came to tell us about repentance AND the kingdom of heaven.

Matt. 4:17 From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”

It is so wonderful that Christ gifts us with eternal life, we forget that Christ wants us to live as the kingdom of heaven is our true home and not the world. The KJV of the gospels has 128 times it tells us of this kingdom but usually when we think of the message of the gospel we think of the forgiveness we have and not of Jesus' message of the kingdom and how to live in it.

The Gospel never offends me ----

It is the TRUTH that offends people about the Scriptures ----People want their cake and eat it to so they dislike especially the hard parts of the Gospel ---sin --God's judgement on unbelievers ---they think they should be able to do as they please and God should be at their beck and call wherever they need Him -

People get offended when they hear that God's love sent His Son and they have to accept His Son to be Heaven bound ---they want to believe that a God who is Love would never sent them to a place of torment but would allow them to dwell with Him in His Kingdom because He Loves them ----

They get offended when they are told that sin turns God's face from them ----so God's Ears Hears them when they pray but their sin block their prayers from His Hearing to answer -----

Isaiah 59
Context
Sin Separates Us from God
1Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor His ear too dull to hear.

2But your iniquities have built barriers between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He does not hear.

3For your hands are stained with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, and your tongue mutters injustice.…

I say ---the Truth of Scripture for many is just to hard to hear so they take offence to it and to the people who defend it ------
that’s exactly the point of this argument some have the position Jesus death eliminates everything he said about eternal life , repentance , right living , salvation all together

this position goes as far as to insist getting baptized isn’t Christian doctrine it’s in necassary because Jesus died and rose

yet paul teaches chapters about baptism being an important key to escaping sins grasp upon us

it’s terrible to use the sacrifice of Christ to argue against the truth and eternal authority of his word

many use the cross as a reason no one needs to hear and believe Gods word , it’s a terrible idea and a false hope

Jesus' kingdom is not of this world. Why would anyone think worldly water has the power to save?

Jesus baptizes with fire and the Holy Spirit of God. How can anyone confuse that with water?

Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one
Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, Who is over all and through all and in all.
