Paul preached " Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again" as the gospel.

1 Corinthians 15: 3,4.

It was offensive then and still is today to many that hear it.

Gal 5:11 And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.

Paul said " if I preach circumcision... "

If he had preached the law he would be fine.

Because he preached the cross he suffered persecution.

How many preach a prosperity gospel today?
How many preach to please men with a non offensive gospel?

I have heard many man made gospel's in my time.

None of them was offensive, none of them were Paul's gospel.

This is an amazing verse :

1Co_1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

When I preach the gospel I get different responses, some are downright nasty, and some just don't want to know, they could not care less.
Some postpone a response, and most have trusted another gospel and cannot see the light of the gospel Paul preached because Satan deceives them.

2Co_4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

No matter the gospel is preached, it is the glorious gospel when you see its light, to know who Christ is and what He has done for us is indeed glorious.

I can rejoice in the Lord always, I hope you can too.

To me not at all. However, I have found when I am witnessing that humanity has not changed. Paul said we preach Christ crucified to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness. He had pointed out because the Jews seek a sign and the Greeks wisdom.

Me personally I have found that has not changed in two thousand years. When I witness to someone who considers themselves religious. I oft find they need some sign from God that they don't have all the answers they believe they do and their personal righteousness is not enough.

While on the other side have found others are just sure they are the truly informed. Their education or slice of the internet bubble that keeps assuring them they are the wise. I find that they view me as the simpleton with his simple words. Their worldly wisdom finds me rather foolish.

Give me someone who has already made a complete mess of their life and aware they have. They are the most fertile soil in my experience.

I have just found that folks who are offended by the gospel are already quite taken with how they have all the answers. So be it the gospel is just not enough cause there has to be something more to it or it is sheer stupidity to them. I have found that the gospel is offensive to those who are sure they have all of life's answers.

isn’t it that those who claim “ Paul’s gospel “ cuts out everything in the gospel of the kingdom Jesus preached That’s offensive to people ?

when you use Jesus death to cut out his everlasting words of judgement and eternal life , it does tend not to offend people but it tends to be seen for what it actually is doing

the argument that the gospel Jesus does and rose , is everything and the reason you cut our Gods word of salvation and judgement

To be clear it is the ultra grace misinterpretation of the gospel some people insist upon . Of Jesus death and resurrection doesn’t lead you to accept Jesus words it’s not working . It doesn’t work because the message your watching always always is “Jesus died and rose nothing else applies Paul preached the gospel the end “

the issue is you try to use Paul’s words to cut out Peter , John , Jesus , the prophets and law all of it and say the is two line quote here is what cute out anything else nothing applies

so then when you see this stuff in Paul’s letters you become offended at the truth in the gospel and keep reverting back to something every Christian believes already because this offends you

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:10-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

even though you claim Paul’s gospel you reject everything he said about repentance and living right and what happens if you don’t your reason is to just repeat a wuote about the cross and that’s the the reason nothing else applies

jesus life and death and resurrection is offensive to no Christian but Jesus words are super offensive to many hypergrace believers who are thought his words don’t apply to them

He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.”
‭‭John‬ ‭12:48-50‬ ‭KJV‬‬

When you say “ Paul’s so called gospel eliminated Jesus Gospel of his eternal
Kingdom he preached and made available to mankind

it is your wacky interpretation that some Christians who believe the gospel may seem to be offended but it’s just that they realize Jesus dying and being raised to life made his words eternal for jew or Gentiles to whom they were sent

it’s probably my why paul says this

“If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭6:3-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

when you use a quote from Paul out the gospel and say that quote eliminates every other word he wrote in 13 epistles I think it becomes obvious what’s happened

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”
‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭4:3-4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

When Christs sacrifice is used to erase Christs words it’s because one of those teachers have taught it when we have to Insist Jesus didn’t preach the real gospel , it’s a lie we’re spreading

Jesus was chosen from before the creation of the world to preach the gospel , Paul was one of those who believed in Jesus and was a servant and witness of his belief like all the other apostles

it’s a terrible thing to try to erase Jesus word from justification and eternal life

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭5:24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

instead insisting it isn’t the gospel ……sad to hear and see

The Gospel never offends me ----

It is the TRUTH that offends people about the Scriptures ----People want their cake and eat it to so they dislike especially the hard parts of the Gospel ---sin --God's judgement on unbelievers ---they think they should be able to do as they please and God should be at their beck and call wherever they need Him -

People get offended when they hear that God's love sent His Son and they have to accept His Son to be Heaven bound ---they want to believe that a God who is Love would never sent them to a place of torment but would allow them to dwell with Him in His Kingdom because He Loves them ----

They get offended when they are told that sin turns God's face from them ----so God's Ears Hears them when they pray but their sin block their prayers from His Hearing to answer -----

Isaiah 59
Context
Sin Separates Us from God
1Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor His ear too dull to hear.

2But your iniquities have built barriers between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He does not hear.

3For your hands are stained with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, and your tongue mutters injustice.…

I say ---the Truth of Scripture for many is just to hard to hear so they take offence to it and to the people who defend it ------

Who wants to be held accountable for their actions? Who wants to hear they have offended their Creator and broken His laws? Go out and ask anyone if they believe they will enter Heaven, most will say yes and that is predicated on the belief that they are a “Good” person. If anything is contrary to that, people become very indignant. Yes, the Gospel offends those who surpress the truth of God and rejects Christ.

I don't think we should get so hung up on cutting the flesh to designate circumcision, and circumcision of the heart.

All the OT tells of fleshly parallels to spiritual truth. The eternal laws were written in stone. We are in the new covenant, God does not need the schoolmasters leading us to him such as cutting flesh to designate belonging to God, it is now heart to heart that we listen to the Lord. We are to see and react to the heart of his messages now.

We are to be circumcised heart to heart, not through fleshly teachings, but the teachings are the same and God is our unchanging eternal God.

Circumcision: Psalm 100:3 Know that the Lord Himself is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

Speaking to non-believers in this regard may go a long way to helping you understand how averse to religion in general many are and against Christianity in particular. In fact it seems quite a few are more amenable to accepting Islam than Christianity! I don't know about you, but I find that downright mind boggling given the sheer number of verses (more than a hundred) in the Quran that encourage the Islamist to kill the unbeliever, and even Christians and Jews whom they refer to as "people of the book." Of course Scripture does tell us that those without the Spirit of God cannot accept the things of God, and that the natural man is at enmity with and hostile toward God. Some will claim to want to "go to heaven" despite rejecting anything and everything else to do with God, as if He should allow them into His home when they refuse to so much as acknowledge His existence. They do find the gospel message something to scorn and mock, and many spend year after year opposing and ridiculing Christians... as if we believe a fairy tale concocted by primitive superstitious cave dwelling goat herding knuckle draggers (yes, I have been told that and much worse).

The gospels are chuck a block with instructions on how to live a life with Christ within, with instructions on obedience. It does not say the law is dead, Christians say that. It does not say to obey is to try to earn salvation through works, that is we work that would have to be the reason--Christians say that. It does not say that there are times God decides he has been wrong so he cancels what he has said before, Christians say that.

Exactly. It is Good News. Good Tidings of Great Joy. Glad Tidings. It is the free offer of salvation to sinners. It is the free offer of Eternal Life to those facing the Second Death. There is not a single person on the face of this earth who does not need to hear that Christ died for his sins and rose again for his justification ("his" being generic for men, women, and children).

There is only one true Gospel, with various designations. Therefore it is called "the Gospel of the Kingdom", "the Gospel of the Kingdom of God, "the Gospel of Jesus Christ", "the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ", "the Gospel of the Grace of God", "the Gospel of God", "the Gospel of His Son", "the Gospel of Christ", "the Gospel of Peace", "the glorious Gospel of the Blessed God", and "the everlasting Gospel". There is only one Christ, only one Savior, and only one true Gospel.

At the same time there are many false gospels, just like there are many false teachers, false apostles, and false prophets. So just ignore the liars and go straight to the Word of God.

If you take away from the word of God (by rejecting the epistles written by non-Pauline authors), your name will be taken out of the book of life (Revelation 22:18-19).

So, no amount of preaching the gospel as it was revealed to Paul is going to be able to save you.

1Co 9:27, But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

Romans 7:4 Therefore, my brothers, you also died to the law through the body
of Christ, that you might belong to another, to Him who was raised from the dead,
in order that we might bear fruit to God. 5 For when we lived according to the flesh,
the sinful passions aroused by the law were at work in our bodies, bearing fruit for
death. 6 But now, having died to what bound us, we have been released from the law,
so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code.

I have another understanding. If it weren't for the sake of me,for my sin, I'm afraid the world would have been reconciled with God

I shared the Gospel with a muslim a few days ago.. And he was offended that Jesus would need to be killed to pay the penalty for our sins.. To him it was a stumbling stone.. An injustice.. Also he could not fathom Jesus being one with the Father and the Holy Spirit.. I do think it all boils down to the concept of Atonement.. Someone paying the penalty for another persons transgressions.. Some people think it is foolishness and others are offended.. I have found that the ones who think it is foolishness are usually atheists and the ones that are offended are religious.. In this particular case it was a religious muslim..

I believe the deeper things of the LORD.. Deeper knowledge,, is blocked from those who reject the Atonement of the LORD.. I believe God foreknows who is accepting and who is rejecting His loving truth, the Way of salvation and these people are blocked from understanding great things..

When i first discovered the Gospel message and understood the wonderful loving way the LORD saved us i thought it was only a matter of properly explaining it to others and once explained clearly enough anyone who heard it would leap for Joy and quickly embrace it.. But i was wrong.. A lot of people have the Gospel Way of salvation explained to them and they either get angry or the laugh at it.. Way too many people.. And it really hurts me to see it happening so often.. We are truly in the end times i believe.. The love of many has grown cold and Jesus lament when He asked the question of would he find Faith on earth on the day of His return really seems prophetic and accurate to me..

As in the days of Noah, so shall the day of the LORD be.. 8 Souls where saved in the Arch during the flood.. How many followers of the LORD will be preserved through the tribulation??? I hope for more then 8..

What gospel have you believed for salvation ?
