I'm out.

A fixed amount of kinetic energy is involved. An object in motion relative to it's immediate environment. Velocity, not acceleration.Inertia is not an infinite amount of energy/force acting on an object indefinitely.
An object under influence of gravity would be accelerating. (Orbit is considered acceleration.)This is basic physics - with an added measure of "magic gravity"...
Please help me have an epiphany moment, Gary. It's been a far too long time since the last one.It is also a high 'educational' venue - always good for a few 'epiphany' moments in the understanding of reality.
Gravity seems to effectively act in every direction whenever matter and mass is present. It will act upwards for you if you find a massive object and put it on your head...do you hold that there is scientific proof of such things as gravity acting sideways, or even upward?

I see you are ignorant of many things besides basic physics. The mariner’s compass is an impossible and non-sensical instrument for use on a ball-Earth. It simultaneously points North and South over a flat surface, yet claims to be pin-pointing two constantly moving geomagnetic poles at opposite ends of a spinning sphere originating from a hypothetical molten metal core. If compass needles were actually drawn to the North pole of a globe, the opposing “South” needle would actually be pointing up and off into outer-space.

FE peeps are not ambitious enough to actually go to any point of the edge and document it with videos, photos and written journals.Where is the edge of the flat Earth? Is it somewhere in the Himalayan Mountains? How can airplanes fly over it and miss it every time? Good thing that there is a magical teleporter that places them on another edge just in the nick of time.
I seriously doubt that. (number typo?)A regulation soccer ball's diameter is roughly 27 inches

Well - if you will seriously focus your attention on this video I have posted multiple times in this thread already and really listen to what is being said - and think about how it pertains to reality - you just might could possibly achieve an epiphany moment...Please help me have an epiphany moment, Gary. According to Flat science, the Sun doesn't orbit the Earth like a hula hoop
but instead circles aloft like a halo.
Flat science also says the Sun isn't above the Earth's atmosphere, rather it
cohabits the atmosphere right along with the clouds.
Now, the thing is: the atmosphere is a material substance; which means it
rubs with objects that fly thru it and friction causes objects to lose speed
unless they're powered.
So, the question is: If the Sun has been flying around in the atmosphere
above the Earth for thousands and thousands of years; then why hasn't
friction with the air caused it to slow down and/or bring it to a halt? Is there
some sort of force up there in the sky pushing the Sun and regulating its
motion? A dark energy perhaps? A high altitude cyclonic wind; a mysterious
jet stream?

* A regulation soccer ball's diameter is roughly 27 inches, viz: .4444 feet,
which, when multiplied by pi yields a circumference 1.3963 feet. So we'd
have to roll the ball 3,781.5 times for its equator to measure out one mile.
Now multiply that by 1,040 and we get 3,932,679.2 rotations in 24 hours to
equal the Earth's surface speed @ one rotation in 24 hours. That's quite a
gear ratio.

A FIFA-regulated ball is usually 26 to 27 inches in diameter.I seriously doubt that. (number typo?)
A beach ball might be that large...
The moon would not be illuminated either.A related FE conundrum would be-
If the sun is a small body contained in Earth's atmosphere, how do it's rays reach other planets?
We observe the sun's light illuminating Venus even without a telescope.
