I still keep sinning and sinning. repented. BUT I still smoke and drink.
Genuine belivers will still sin.
God has given us provision and Jesus intercedes for us.
We can come before God and confess our sins.
@ResidentAlien made a great point
l. If you've had a bad past or a lot of trauma, it can be a long road getting to where you'd like to be with the Lord; but never give up and don't take the easy path of OSAS. God won't give up on you if you're sincere and have faith in Him.
I was one of the people.
Due to severe childhood trauma I struggled with addictions.
I cried out to God every day for help and victory.
It never happened, I had severe anxiety and depression.
BUT I NEVER GAVE UP.
The issue was not the sin but the reason for the sin.
Eventually God revealed to me that my trauma needed healing, so I sought help.
After 40 years of severe gambling I was healed of that.
I am still working on other issues as a result but I keep asking and pressing in.
Being like Jacob, not letting go until I get that blessing.
In a sense the issue is not OSAS or having to earn our salvation.
The issue is that if we genuinely believe in Jesus and what he did and accept him and repent of the sin of unbelief in him then we will just want to be like him.
There will be times when we may not do that because of guilt and shame.
Jesus took that for us.
Those who believe in OSAS and use it as an excuse to sin and those who believe that we need to do good works to earn our salvation are wrong.
Both are dangerous paths to go down.
Paul addressed the issue that we could use grace to sin in Romans.
He made it clear it was wrong to do so and he also made it clear that we are not saved by our works.
Keep seeking God do not give up, his timing is perfect.
Be like Jacob.
