No works except to only REPENT and BELIEVE are required for Salvation in Christ Jesus.

However, the Bride has to overcome - all that are selected in The Bride have to pass through and overcome ALL seven letters to the seven churches. The Bride has works to do to be selected as The Bride......but, Salvation is NEVER lost because Salvation comes by BIRTH.

If God possesses foreknowledge of His own actions, then the problem is to explain how the foreknowledge can be the basis for the actions when it already includes the actions.
I don’t see the dilemma that you see here. God sees what is to come and acts accordingly, or acts in such a manner to bring about certain events.

Of course you are speaking from the perspective that God sees all of history as like time stamps and that includes what He will do, but even if He saw what He was going to do, now knowing it, He would be able to alter course (changing His actions). Thereby making His actions based in foreknowledge.

God’s foreknowledge doesn’t present a conundrum.

It could be argued that God’s foreknowledge is accurately calculated, in all of His knowing, able to discern cause and effect (back to back to back). Or He very well may be outside of time peeking in. Either way, He knows all possible outcomes and makes the necessary maneuvers to bring about His will (and prophecies that require divine intervention or prophecies that are contingent upon certain criteria being met).

It's also worth noting that it takes far more self-confidence, more wisdom, more love, and more sensitivity to govern what is personal and free, than it does to govern that which one has absolute control of. A God totally in control can run a world of controlled beings. But what is magnificent about that? If everything in the universe is already set? Then the conversation God has with humans is more like that between a ventriloquist and the dummy. Such a dialogue is merely a sophisticated form of talking to oneself.

If what God has foreseen is the entire human history at once, then the difficulty is to somehow allow for God's intervention into that history. This raises a serious problem. Does simple foreknowledge imply that God knows in advance His own decisions and actions? If God possesses foreknowledge of His own actions, then the problem is to explain how the foreknowledge can be the basis for the actions when it already includes the actions.

Would it then be impossible that God should use foreknowledge derived from the actual occurrence of future events to determine His own prior actions in the governance of the world? Such a God would then know what He is going to do before deciding what to do. Thus, He would be unable to plan, anticipate, or decide. He would simply know.

This seems to call the divine freedom into question, making God a prisoner of His own ability to know what's going on everywhere in the universe at every moment. And if God sees history "all at once" and His actions were not foreseen, then God never foresees any prophets making predictions given by Him.

the important part of all of this that you are leaving out is FREE WILL...........

God surely foreknows ALL OF HISTORY..........He IS the Alpha and Omega........ His knowing does not equate to His interfering with mans free will...........

I really do not see any point to your OP...........what ASSERTION are you trying to make?

BTW:

DO YOU BELIEVE JESUS IS GOD?

YES, God is in control of everything. And if He isnt, then we got the wrong God, we got some false god who is just trying his best to figure it out. A god created in man's image.

4. If it means that God elects some for salvation and others for damnation, then that is contrary to Scripture, and is false.
https://www.gotquestions.org/elect-of-God.html How do I know this is not true? Because my whole life I knew I was one of the chosen ones. From a very young age. One day I will share my very long story.

Many churches teach God called certain people because the New Testament has places where it talks about those who God called. I think God called everyone and only certain people answered the call. In Ephesians 1:4, it says God chose us in Christ beforehand... and in Revelation 17:8, it says certain names have been written in a book from the foundation of the world. It's the group, the body of Christ that is foreordained from the foundation of the world, and not specific individuals selected by God for salvation.
May I present you with this:

A country of 55 million has an air force. Every year, about 3,000 men and women apply for pilot training. The air force, having long years of experience, sets up a selection process. At the end of this selection process, the air force finds abut 120 men and women who fit the criteria for being successful pilots. This is the result of the "foreknowledge" after years of trial and error. All 3,000 are allowed to apply and are taken seriously. 2,880 will, if allowed to fly, at some time, crash and kill themselves and others. The air force "calls" the 120 as "chosen" without prejudiced against the 2,880.

God extends His offer to all men. God does not need "trial and error". In His omniscience and unlimited foreknowledge, He calls those He knows will respond. The rest would, and do, refuse. God has not prejudiced anybody. God has not violated free will. If He did anything else, He would violate free will.

But now we must set aside contempory Christian belief and see God's heart. Contemporary Christian doctrine holds that men must believe in Jesus and they will go to heaven at death. Those refusing are condemned to hell. All retards and children fall under a special regulation which is not found in the whole Bible. But what does the Bible actually say? It says in Isaiah 66:24, and in all reports of the various judgments, that ONLY those who actively transgressed against God will land in the Lake of Fire. So what happens with the retarded, those who never heard the gospel and children who die. The answer is God's COVENANT with Abraham.

In this Covenant God, among other Promises, promises that (i) the seed of Abraham would "possess his enemy's gates", and (ii) would "bless all the families of earth". Without writing a book, the meaning of this - for it speaks for itself, is clear that at some future time, Jesus Christ and the Church (seed of Abraham - Gal.3:29) would set up a Kingdom in place of present Gentile rule and because this rule would be administered by the most trusted servants of Jesus, it would bring great blessing and equity to all men. Added to this, the most remarkable point of this Covenant is that in order to fulfill it, God would be the God of RESURRECTION. That is, the benefits of God's Kingdom ON EARTH would include the resurrection of ALL men. This is confirmed by 1st Corinthians 15:22.

This Divine Rule, that is still future, solves the problem of death - for all men are resurrected. It solves the problem of justice - for the "transgressors" end up in "perdition". The innocent and the non-transgressors, end up as subjects in this new Government over the earth, and are "blessed" by its rule (Pr.29:2). And the "called" and "chosen" administer heavenly type of rule over all men. You can at once see how much glory this gives God. Without violating free will, He blesses even those who did not choose Him, but in no way excuses the evil done by men of free will.

Our worst enemy to giving God His due is our manufactured doctrine inherited from the Roman Church. But if the Bible is taken literally, and in its entirety, a picture of a glorious God emerges and this glory is all achieved (i) without violating free will, but (ii) with God using His foreknowledge and sovereignty to bring blessing on mankind and the earth.

I don't know anything about "philosophy". I posted God is not in control. You said it was biblical that He does. I said it did not come from God but from Augustine who was Catholic. From that you turned my words into church history or "philosophy". And that's why you scare me. You take all of my posts out of comtext and spin them into a different subject.
Did I read you right? Did you say God is not in control?

Yes I don't believe God is in control of my life. The thought was first taught by Augustine in the 4th century. He was a Catholic Bishop.

Yes God is in control of everything. He created everything. He created everything by speaking a few sentences. His words created everything. His breath gave life to mankind. It is by his grace that he doesn't just say "Stop" and all of us die.

[8] “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not my ways,” ⌞declares⌟ Yahweh. [9] “For as the heavens are ⌞higher⌟ than the earth, so my ways are ⌞higher⌟ than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:8-9 [LEB])

I am the Alpha and the Omega, says the Lord God, the one who is and the one who was and the one who is coming, the All-Powerful. (Revelation of John 1:8 [LEB])

And he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the one who is thirsty I will give water from the spring of the water of life freely. (Revelation of John 21:6 [LEB])

I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.” (Revelation of John 22:13 [LEB])

“ ⌞Therefore⌟ look, I am about to let them know, this time I am going to let them know my ⌞power⌟ and my might, and they will know that my name is Yahweh.” (Jeremiah 16:21 [LEB])

and the slain one will fall in the midst of you, and then you will know that I am Yahweh. (Ezekiel 6:7 [LEB])

And they will know that I am Yahweh; not ⌞in vain⌟ I spoke to bring to them this evil.” ’ (Ezekiel 6:10 [LEB])

And I will stretch out my hand against them, and I will make the land a desolation and a wasteland from the desert to Riblah in all of their dwellings, and they will know that I am Yahweh.” ’ ” (Ezekiel 6:14 [LEB])

And my eye will not take pity on you, and I will not show compassion for your ways; on you I will bring your detestable things; they will be in the midst of you, and you will know that I am Yahweh.’ (Ezekiel 7:4 [LEB])

The king will mourn, and the prince will be dressed with despair, and the hands of the people of the land will tremble. According to their way I will do to them, and according to their judgments I will judge them, and they will know that I am Yahweh.’ ” (Ezekiel 7:27 [LEB])

By the sword you will fall at the border of Israel; I will judge you, and you will know that I am Yahweh. (Ezekiel 11:10 [LEB])

And you will know that I am Yahweh, whose rules you did not follow, and whose regulations you did not do, but according to the regulations of the nations that are around you, you acted.” ’ (Ezekiel 11:12 [LEB])

And they will know that I am Yahweh ⌞when I scatter them⌟ among the nations and I scatter them in the countries. (Ezekiel 12:15 [LEB])

And ⌞the inhabited cites will be desolate⌟ , and the land will be a desolation, and you will know that I am Yahweh.” ’ ” (Ezekiel 12:20 [LEB])

And I will break down the wall that you covered with whitewash, and I will knock it to the ground, and its foundation will be revealed, and it will fall, and you will come to an end in the midst of it, and you will know that I am Yahweh! (Ezekiel 13:14 [LEB])

Let those words sink in. He lets us know plenty of times who is in charge. Take a look at what he says to Job

[4] “Where were you at my laying the foundation of the earth? Tell me, if you possess understanding. [5] Who determined its measurement? Yes, you do know. Or who stretched the measuring line upon it? [6] On what were its bases sunk? Or who laid its cornerstone, [7] when the morning stars were singing together and all the sons of God shouted for joy? [8] “Or who shut the sea in with doors at its bursting, when it went out of the womb, [9] at my making the clouds its garment and thick darkness its swaddling band, [10] and I prescribed my rule for it, and I set bars and doors, [11] and I said, ‘You shall come up to here, but you shall not go further, and here it will set a boundary ⌞for your proud surging waves⌟ ’? [12] “Have you ⌞ever in your life⌟ commanded the morning? Have you made the dawn know its place, [13] to take hold of the earth’s skirts so that the wicked might be shaken off from it? [14] It is changed like clay under a seal, and they appear like a garment. [15] And their light is withheld from the wicked, and their uplifted arm is broken. [16] “Have you entered into the sea’s sources? Or have you walked around in the recesses of the deep? [17] Have the gates of death been revealed to you? Or have you seen the gates of deep shadow? [18] Have you considered closely the earth’s vast expanse? Declare it, if you know all of it. [19] “Where then is the way where the light dwells? And where then is its place, [20] that you may take it to its territory, and that you might discern the paths to its home? [21] You know, for you were born then, and the number of your days is great. [22] Have you entered into the storehouses of the snow, or have you seen the storehouses of the hail, [23] which I have reserved for the time of trouble, for the day of battle and war? [24] Where then is the way where the light is distributed, where he scatters the east wind upon the earth? [25] “Who has cut open a channel for the torrents and a way for the ⌞thunder bolts⌟ , [26] to bring rain on a land ⌞where no one lives⌟ , a desert ⌞where no humans live⌟ , [27] to satisfy desert and wasteland, and to cause the ground to put forth the rising of grass? [28] Is there a father for the rain, or who fathered the drops of dew? [29] From whose womb did the ice come forth, and who fathered the frost of heaven? [30] Like stone the waters become hard, and the faces of the deep freeze. [31] “Can you bind the chains of the Pleiades, or can you loosen the cords of Orion? [32] Can you lead forth the southern constellations at their appointed time, or can you lead the Bear with its children? [33] Do you know heaven’s statutes, or can you establish their rule on the earth? [34] Can you lift up your voice to the clouds so that a flood of water may cover you? [35] Can you send forth lightnings, that they may go? And will they say to you, ‘Here we are’? [36] Who has put wisdom in the ibis, or who has given understanding to the rooster? [37] Who can number the clouds with wisdom? Or who can tilt heaven’s jars, [38] at the flowing of the dust into a cast and the clods cling together? [39] “Can you hunt prey for the lion? And can you satisfy the hunger of strong lions [40] when they are crouched in the dens, when they lie in the thicket in an ambush? [41] Who prepares for the crow its prey, when its young ones cry to God for help, and they wander around ⌞for lack of food⌟ ? (Job 38:4-41 [LEB])

If you ever doubt the power of Our Lord, you ought learn His Name (YHWH). Then take time to read all of the prophetic scripture. You want to know God's power? Read these books:

  • Daniel
  • Ezekiel
  • Habakkuk
  • Zechariah
  • Obidiah
  • Isaiah
  • Jeremiah
  • Hosea
  • Joel
  • Amos
  • Jonah
  • Micha
  • Nahum
  • Zephaniah
  • Haggai
  • Malachi
The first 4 words of Genesis sum it all up.

"In the beginning God"

It is not our place as mere humans to question God's judgement, authority, or will.

It was planned from the beginning, free will and freedom must over take tyranny. Its for man to decide who to follow, the prince of darkness or the mighty creator, Jesus Christ. How can there be love without freedom?
You should post this in the Calvinite "ism" thread......

I disagree. I believe God calls everyone and only certain people answer that call.
The bible is clear on this, the invisible testifies, creation testifies and they are without excuse.....HOWEVER.....

MANY are called, but few chosen...

MANY is not ALL......but over all, with creation and the invisible testifying....no one can say there was not any evidence....!!

The context of this conversation is God is not in control of everything. God calling everyone and only certain people answered that call was just one example of God not in control of peoples lives.

[41] Who prepares for the crow its prey, when its young ones cry to God for help, and they wander around ⌞for lack of food⌟ ? (Job 38:4-41 [LEB])

"In the beginning God"

It is not our place as mere humans to question God's judgement, authority, or will.
When I realized God does not know the future is when I realized He is not in control. This is when I realized such a concept of having God in control put me in a state of not being in control. Such thinking caused me to ask for what I should have had based on what He had already designed for me.

So what if He designed nothing for me because He is not in control of my life like if I were a puppet? Then it would have been nothing all those years that I was praying to receive. Realizing such a concept was never true has put me in control of my own spiritual life.
