God doesn't really predict but knows for certain exactly what is going to happen. The best that a human being can do is to formulate a plan towards a desired goal and then begin to execute the plan. Planning is a wise thing to do as you must account for all the known factors which may have an impact on any such plan, gather all necessary resources and then proceed boldly forward. Yes you can make a prediction on what may or may not happen but this is not the same for knowing with absolute certainly the outcome.

Isn't it logical (we know it is possible with God) that God may choose ...not to know some things....... as part of His plan. I refer to Job and the challenges He allowed Job to be confronted with..after referring to Job as...."a perfect servant". There are others.

Could very well be but don't believe that there is a scriptural support to substantiate that. I find your perception to be very interesting and I just don't casually dismiss them.
So if there is no verse in the Scriptures stating God is “omniscient” meaning He knows the past, the present, and the future? Then why do so many Christians believe God is omniscient? The answer is: Ancient Greek Mythology and Philosophy.
It's also worth noting that it takes far more self-confidence, more wisdom, more love, and more sensitivity to govern what is personal and free, than it does to govern that which one has absolute control of. A God totally in control can run a world of controlled beings. But what is magnificent about that? If everything in the universe is already set? Then the conversation God has with humans is more like that between a ventriloquist and the dummy. Such a dialogue is merely a sophisticated form of talking to oneself.

I wonder how God knew this if He is not omniscient....

Abraham will surely become a great and powerful nation, and all nations on earth will be blessed through him.
Isaiah 46:10 I distinguish the end from the beginning, and ancient times from what is still to come, saying: ‘My purpose will be established, and I will accomplish all My good pleasure.’
Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I set you apart and appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
My Bible teach me my God knows all and sees all. Maybe you are serving the Greek gods... and you are welcome doing it.
My Bible also teach me he is the Aleph and the Tav, it also teaches me that Jesus was crucified at the foundation of the earth. He knew what would happen.
Regardless of the bible stating explicitly that God is omniscient it certainly is implied in many verses. The entire book of Revelation is future and is a prime example of God being omniscient.
If God is so wise as to be competent and resourceful in dealing with us instead of manipulating all that happens? Then this would not diminish His authority to govern because such authority that reigns unchallenged is not as absolute as the authority that accepts a challenge. Such supreme independent power requires tremendous wisdom, patience, love, faithfulness, and resourcefulness to work with a world of independent creatures.
This kind of a relationship is not one of domination or manipulation, but of participation and cooperation wherein we become co-laborers with God. It did not have to be this way. It's so only because God wanted a reciprocal relationship of love and elected to make us an important element in such a relationship. And this is why I am suggesting that God has established personal relationships whereby He can have fellowship with us and not that of manipulative or contractual relations.
Those who lived at the time of the first century (when the New Testament Scriptures were first starting to be spoken) prayed boldly because they believed their prayers could change things... even God’s mind. They understood they were working with God to determine the future because God has open routes into the future and He desires we participate with Him in determining which ones to take. And so it can be said we open a window of opportunity for new possibilities for God to carry out His goal when we turn to Him in prayer.
And since prayer affects both parties and changes the situation making it different than what it was prior to the prayer. Then asking in faith may make it possible for God to do something that He could not have done without our asking. And also there are indeed times when the person making the request makes a difference to God because He is interested in a personal loving relationship with us.
