Chamomile Tea isn't halucinogenic nothing like that. I thought it was just medicinal wild tea. I drank a bunch of it when I lived in Colorado.

marijuana isn't hallucinogenic in small doses, either.

both chamomile and marijuana, and a host of other plants ((Who made those?)) act on serotonin and dopamine receptors, changing brain chemistry and producing altered states of mind - or more precisely, altering the way the mind and brain interact - the mind is spiritual, not physical. many, if not all plants can change the way the mind interacts with the body by changing the operation or status of the brain.

i don't agree with categorical statents about 'substances that affect the brain' being sinful. sugar does this. wine does this. coffee does this. food in general does this. even bread and water do this.
this goes beyond consuming food and drink, too. looking at someone you love changes your brain chemistry. seeing something beautiful does. hearing birds singing, thunder, or music can change your brain chemistry. so can smelling petrichor or a flower.

God designed us with bodies that react to these things, and He made the creatures and the sky and all the plants. for sure we can abuse them, and we certainly shouldn't - but that doesn't make them intrinsically evil or worthless, and in my opinion, we shouldn't condemn someone for thanking God for something He made, even if we find it hard to do so ourselves.

I prefer to just my mind as God provided.

the mind isn't physical.

it's not changed by the physical brain; the brain is just the linkage through which the mind interacts with the physical world.

you don't cease to exist when you get amnesia or alzheimer's, or fall asleep, and your mind doesn't function differently when your brain is working at different levels of capacity.

I have never met any one who say it make them more focused.
Just the opposite is what I have seen.
IN my opinion, any drug that alters a person's mind as God has given it, is a sin.
Get on your knees and ask God to help you, and if you are a true child of God, He will.
Coffee contains caffeine, also a drug that helps keep a person awake, is it a sin to drink?

It depends. But it's not mind altering to the point of lowering inhibitions or even effective for some people. Tea also has caffeine. Drunk around the world on every continent. Just like wine.

In fact in caffeine producing tea and coffee plants less insecticides are used in cultivation because the caffeine kills bugs.

It's NOT the chemicals as much as it is the emotional crutch that people make it to be. Chemicals are like a shovel....a tool. They can be useful or destructive. A crutch is helpful to those injured. But if you are not injured and use it regularly you won't be able to walk without it.

And your defensiveness is showing.
Proving the exact point we have been making. There is use and abuse. No different than anything else in the world. Food addiction is also a real thing. Drinking water can be addictive too as well to the point of self harm.

People are sinful. People sin. People invent new ways to sin all the time.
Some people destroy themselves quickly with their sins and others slowly.

The effects of chemical dependency are unique to the individual and type of chemical dependency they engage in. Heroine or narcotics are rapidly destructive. Alcohol is dependant upon the person (lots of functional drunks in the world who only drink on weekends)
Marijuana is just the latest drug of choice people can use for its debilitating effects. There are many others. Kot is popular too. Syria made a very internationally popular mild amphetamine until their Civil War this past year. They still make it....just not as much.

People love their recreational drugs and license them to ease their conscience.

But.....

If you want license to sin I'm not going to give it anymore than God will.

I think it's simpler than we make it out to be.

17Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. 18And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit
Ephesians 5

The way we should evaluate a substance is whether or not it makes us drunk. When I was a kid we said "stoned" if it was anything other than alcohol, same thing though.

I choose to deny myself a LOT of substances in other categories for other reasons too.

We were created spirit, soul, and body.
The science of neural plasticity shows the mind controls the brain, not the other way around.

Yes, I think even the spirit is involved as well. There's an interelationship rather than a single part. Damage one part and it affects the others. Here's a prophetic example.

This will be relevant when the Mark is required. Lost People will:

A. Worship the Beast.....dead spirit of man
B. Make decisions based upon their soul.... Even some unbelievers will decide to go without the mark. Others will decide to go ahead and do it based upon....
C. Physical needs like food, utilities, ability to pay taxes, buy, sell, and desires like "infinite knowledge", ye shall be like God. So they will be deceived when offered the AI interconnectivity through the implantable circuits in whatever form that turns out to be.

Don't know anything about.
I prefer to just my mind as God provided.
I understand there can be issues and drugs are prescribed by an MD,
My Grand was blown up in Afghanistan and suffered brain trauma and is on full disability and must take drugs to function , but only under an MD's care.

Make sure you thank him for his service from me. I hope he stays in contact with the veteran community where he is at. It’s so important that so many veterans voices as possible are heard. We’re far from where we need to be, but by the grace of God one day we will.

So I'm curious if it feels like Cannabis helps me focus more and put me in a state where i can safely say i read the bible and can understand it a bit better while on the stuff.. Is it still considered sinful if it can help someone like me do that?
Usually I'm very autistic and my mind tends to get bored rather easy and starts to wander.. but with cannabis it helps me focus and during that time I usually am focus on the bible.
"He [God] makes grass grow for the cattle, and plants for man to cultivate - bringing forth food from the earth, and wine that gladdens the heart of man, oil to make his face shine, and bread which sustains man's heart,". -Psalm 104:15

I don't see much of a difference with cannabis. Not being "drunk" is the key.

The stoners cop out verse. When God put it in my heart to quit smoking I still had christian friends who still smoked who would use this verse and say God created marijuana so it's not sinful.

This is kind of a funny from years ago while still in the world.I asked Jesus if weed would ever be legal and he really didn't want to answer. If you're face to face talking to Jesus then there's better conversations to be had. Finally he answered my question and said that weed will be legal(here in Canada) but I wont be smoking. That was years before it became legal here in Canada and he was right.Back then I was a big pot head.
God made the coca plant. It's used for tea in South America, and has a stimulant property similar to coffee. It's also used (in enormous quantities) to make cocaine. Just because it's misused doesn't make it sinful when used properly.

You couldn't keep wine from frementing, yeast is in the air, and they hadn't the miracle of chemical preservatives, hence the proscription against drunkenness.
How can a cannabis user measure stopping before getting addled if that were the limit?:)(y)

Thanks, He is doing great.

There's choices and consequences for those choices.

Not gonna lie or hold back the truth of chemical dependency even if you are somewhat functional in life having a chemical dependency.

But the gospel message is centered on relationships. How well you can relate to others is not centered on how well you are received by others when speaking the truth. Many will hate you for speaking the truth when asked.

And the truth is chemical dependency of THC has consequences due to its debilitating effects. It is a dangerous substance with huge risks that far excede a Covid-19 mRNA vaccine.

And yes, I'm accustomed to dealing with chemically dependant people on a regular basis. I'm a retired construction worker and recovering chef....both fields are rife with chemically dependant people. Few are honest about it even with themselves. But the consequences are a laundry list affecting the people in your life you love the most and wish to hurt the least.

You and others need to listen to this interview that I was thinking about posting on my new thread at the news forum.
What happened to this man?

I've been using cannabis for medical purposes for a few years. Here are some of my thoughts:

1) when you use "too much" it can definitely have negative effects, like increased anxiety, which cannot be compared to other
things like alcohol. cannabis is not harmless. if you smoke it in huge amounts you're setting yourself up for negative experiences.

2) everybody should try to find his individual dose, which does not cause any negative side effects, i use a fine scale to measure
my dose. my single dose is usually around 40mg. when i first started i didn't really know how much to use and i used doses
which were too high and i definitely noticed negative effects.

3) i'd advise nobody to smoke it. i'd use a vaporizer. this guarantees a slower delivery and this way you can also dose much finer.

4) with cannabis it's just like with alcohol. know your limits! imagine you drink half a bottle of wine at once then you'll be drunk
in no time. this is not how you do it. BUT if you have a glass of wine then you won't have any negative side effects. people need
to use their brains and be responsible!

5) cannabis strains play a HUGE role. every strain is different and works different. it's not just the THC content but also the terpene
profile. terpenes play a huge role, too. this is what sucks a bit. on the one hand there are so many strains to choose from, but at
the same time finding good strains can be hard. it's also possible that you find a good strain and then it's discontinued.

6) for me cannabis sometimes (not always, i dont know why) can have REALLY positive effects, like feeling calmer and having a
strange sense of well-being. sometimes within a few minutes i feel calm and then i also find it much easier to talk to God cause
my mind isn't so restless. but these effects only occur sometimes, which sucks. sometimes i don't get any positive effects and
it only cost me money.

7) i know some christians say that cannabis is bad alltogether, but is it? then what about other natural substances which can also
have negative effects when you take too much? what about st.john's wort? if you abuse SJW then you can also mess yourself up.
or what about coffee? you can also kill yourself with too much coffee.

people need to use their brains and act responsible. it's the same with alcohol. i do not avise getting drunk and damaging your liver
and the rest of your body. but if you for example like sipping on a whiskey just for the taste of it then i see nothing wrong with it.

there are many other comparable examples. just take chocolate or ice cream. if a person eats a bucket of ice cream at once or eats
an entire bar of chocolate within seconds like normal food then such a behavior is destructive!

i have a problem with 250 pound pastors who like to tell others that alcohol is bad or that cannabis is bad but overeating is no
problem at all... LOL
