Ezekiel 47:12
"And on the banks, on both sides of the river, there will grow all kinds of trees for food. Their leaves will not wither, nor their fruit fail, but they will bear fresh fruit every month, because the water for them flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for healing.”

The stoners cop out verse. When God put it in my heart to quit smoking I still had christian friends who still smoked who would use this verse and say God created marijuana so it's not sinful.

This is kind of a funny from years ago while still in the world.I asked Jesus if weed would ever be legal and he really didn't want to answer. If you're face to face talking to Jesus then there's better conversations to be had. Finally he answered my question and said that weed will be legal(here in Canada) but I wont be smoking. That was years before it became legal here in Canada and he was right.Back then I was a big pot head.

Well, you are certainly free to claim God created something sinful.

Meanwhile,as I recommended, those interested in natural healing, do the research.

Admitted stoners aren't a good source to find the medicinal properties in Cannabis.

Caffeine is a drug but is coffee and sodapop a sin?

So I'm curious if it feels like Cannabis helps me focus more and put me in a state where i can safely say i read the bible and can understand it a bit better while on the stuff.. Is it still considered sinful if it can help someone like me do that?
Usually I'm very autistic and my mind tends to get bored rather easy and starts to wander.. but with cannabis it helps me focus and during that time I usually am focus on the bible.
initially, concerning cannabus & alcohol, they both cause impaired cognitive function that lasts forever unless corrected. however, soon after such substances are ingested, they both can stimulate the brain to a higher level of thinking, intelligence & memory but it soon fades. impaired intemperance & forgetfulness will take over. & certainly the devil will influence & con people. Jesus certainly would not use cannabis. using cannabis doesn't go along with 1st Corinthians 3:16- "know ye not that you are the temple of God & that the Spirit of God dwell in you". Jesus was never in a state of moral intemperance. do not use the stuff, use Jesus, he costs nothing!

He created our bodies to do good. It's how we use it.

I have never met any one who say it make them more focused.
Just the opposite is what I have seen.
IN my opinion, any drug that alters a person's mind as God has given it, is a sin.
Get on your knees and ask God to help you, and if you are a true child of God, He will.
I take it you don't drink coffee, or tea, or soft drinks? Curious....

In the end, they will go to ever more deadly drugs as the simple joint does not bring the same feeling after a time.
That's pretty much bovine poop. That's straight out of "Reefer Madness" ....

Our son has been ADHD all his life, and he functions WAY better. He is a daily user. He is focused, very good at what he does, and works harder than I do.

There are people that abuse it, of course. Same as alcohol. Same as Dr Pepper. Judicious, medicinal use is a good thing for those that need it.

It is addictive.

It is not physically addictive. It can become an emotional addiction, but there is no physical addiction. You would have more withdrawl symptoms from quitting smoking cigarettes than cannabis.

Pot does not heal, period.

I don't think anyone claims it to "heal"... what it does is more of a sedative effect that enables better concentration. It also helps people with glaucoma, and it helps people that are in chemotherapy. There are probably more things that it does, but those alone make it worthwhile.

Research show that the properties in Cannabis, cannabinoids , do have a healing effect in some research cases .

First of all how old are you? Studies have proven marijuana use can cause schizophrenia in youth. As for the biblical perspective I wouldn't say it was sinful but as with anything it can become addictive and therefore become a sin. A healthier way would be working out to alleviate the ADHD symptoms or teas like Chamomile tea are also good. Also marijuana tends to put people asleep so not the best for forus or meditating on the bible. If your having trouble reading the bible how about listening to the audio? I slow it down to 85-90 percent so it easier to understand it might help you too.

Johnny cash recorded it in 2-5 min segment so anyone could read the bible.

Ask the Lord and do what He tells you; He's the one you have to please and obey.

You may be able to concentrate better and read God's word, but how is your spiritual life? Are you really understanding what you read better or do you just think you do? Do you retain what you've learned and does it help you grow spiritually? Does it help you have better relationships with those around you or does it make you more withdrawn and introspective? A lot of things to consider.

I'm 31 years old nearing 32 soon. Luckily there is no family history of Schizo or psychosis in my family. I tend be very careful.

Well it's safer than alcohol and nobody has yet died from it first off.
My brother and I partook one day a long time ago in our own backyard. I ended up altered of mind from the effects of that single joint (marijuana cigarette). My brother? He had to be rushed to the hospital and became incapacitated. The hospital test revealed the lining of his brain had swollen to an abnormal amount. Did he almost die? We did not carry out any further experiments to find out.

Well,
It's a chemical "crutch". Something you believe you need to function "normally"

And that in itself is a problem. It doesn't matter if it is legal or illegal. It could be diet soda....but the problem is the need for a crutch.

What this crutch is doing is regressing you emotionally. To a point of EARLY pubescent maturity levels. (About half your current age...maybe a little less)

As adults we face all sorts of emotionally difficult situations. It's just a part of life. Offspring and family issues come up. So do career and relationships other than romantic. And with the maturity we gain over the years we learn to deal with these situations with grace and maturity. Making positives out of potentially disastrous situations....where base emotions like crying or angry outbursts will not help whatsoever even though you feel like doing so.

And any chemical dependency, long term, will remove your ability to handle those situations effectively with grace and maturity. You will think angry outbursts or crying will be the best thing in the world for every situation and that you won't need to hold those feelings in anymore....when the truth is the exact opposite. You have lost your ability to reason through quickly enough to know how to deal with "difficult" people or situations to where you don't get angry or cry.

Sure, you couched your question in a fashion to get everyone to agree with your choice to encourage you....

But I'm not so easily manipulated.

You want the truth or a lie?
The truth is that either in 30 years you will be an emotional "Karen" or you will be filled with wisdom and self control. Who do you want to be?

One look at Ozzy Osborne and the truth was broadcast all over the world on his television show. Recreational and otherwise chemical dependency has consequences even if they are not monetary. (He was severe....but there are MANY others not as severe but still with lives of train wrecks)

Jesus's first miracle was turning water into wine so people could eat drink and be merry at a wedding. But drunkenness is listed as a sin. Is some guy that comes home after a 10 hours shift at the shop who drinks a beer any worse than a guy who does the same with a puff or 2. Not in any way shape or form. If weed causes you or temps you to do other sinfull things then it needs to go. In all honesty if I had to choose door A or door B to spend 4 hours in. Door A was 50 people drinking jack Daniel's and Door B was 50 people smoking weed. I'd pick door B without hesitation.

There is a condition called "state dependent learning." This is a condition where learning something while you are "high" will only be completely recalled when you are "high". This is usually observed with long-time THC abuse.

If your medical condition this is something other than rationalization (we all struggle with focus at times) then you are in a condition that ancient Judaism identifies as "Light-n-heavy" (my translation). The great risks of not studying God's word far outweigh the risks from using just enough THC to allow you comprehend. Your choice is then pretty clear.
