Tell you about the dark ages? Seriously, do your own research.

I did, and from what I can tell it's mostly a myth that's been romanticised both ways.
But I'd like to know why you think it's comparable to this age.

I wish I knew what was funny.
I did the resesarch and all I can tell is that written records became sparse for a while.
The term was coined by one man specifically because of this fact, and his distain for Christianity.
There were some wars, but no evidence that people evrywhere lived terrible lives.
During the time some empires even thrived, and art and architecture still evolved.

@Ceph you bring up an interesting point, a favorite subject of mine: is it better to know or to not know?

I personally think that the Internet has been the worst thing for humanity in terms of bringing a war for the mind. Because our ancestors used to fight wars in the flesh.
With the internet, a crazy person can reach a large audience, wheres in my grandfather's time everyone knew who the village idiot was and treated him accordingly.
Now the village idiot goes online and reaches the whole world with his message.

What do you think about this? Is it better to know or not know?
This question arises when you compare the past to now.

Disease and war existed in the past but nobody had an iPhone during the plagues in Europe to TikTok millions dying.

I think that knowledge should be handled responsibly by people who aspire to be responsible with it, but in this world it's just inevitable that fools do and say things that they shouldn't.
If I hadn't learned what I know now, I wouldn't be me as I am now.
But there are people who know about as much as me who aren't as prudent as they aught to be, and that's where I'm disappointed.

Revisionist history doesn't help your argument.

I don't intend to argue, because I'd rather be content with all the brothers I'll be dwelling with than risk getting put to shame on judgment day.
I'm merely stating the reason for my point of view, and if you have something to support your case, you aught to share it so that we can both come to an agreement.

I didn't see a path forward to agreement. Have a great day.

"Man is born into trouble just as surely as sparks fly upwards"
Job, good book
Like the first great truth of buddhism; existence is suffering
I think most people that existed had it tough
'xcept emporer's and stuff maybe
Then remember the nebuchadnezzar alamo
Turned into a beast for a time
Perseus or the minotaur?
It's everywhere, innit
Hard coded into humanity
Are you a man or an animal, young atreides?
Can you contextualise the water of life
Eh, job
Good book
Where were you when He yadda yadda'd?
When you described the pride at the ocean
I thought of
Here your proud waves must stay..
Do you know why the book thereabouts
At chapters 39 to 41
Spins off into a diatribe about zoology?

I'd also like to point about that while a pentagram has 5 points, 5 triangles, there's a 6th shape—a pentagon—in the middle.
A man has 5 extremities, 5 senses, and a soul that tranceives through them.
The 7th part may be the truthful relationship people have with one another.

When satan lies, he stands on his own.

Is there any way to reply to a thread without dramatically bumping?
The year is actually 5995. I initally said it was 5998 going by some elses calculation of certain scholarly resources, but God has just told me that this world has 5 years left, and Christs reign will definitely begin on the year 6000.
