Single and open to a Spirit centered life with a sister yet quite busy, He guides to do His will through me, divine encounters, miracles, etc. are a regular part of life here, when they occur they don't surprise me, i'm becoming more surprised when they don't.
There are so many with financial need and I am blessed and secure, if it be His will to be in relationship with a lady of course I would so.
blessings:)(y):coffee::unsure:

Edith, it's not helpmeet, it's helpmate which is the biblical term for helper. It just refers to the person who will help the other person in any and all of life's issues. But thank you so much for your prayer my sister.

Dear Bob
KJv says help meet
NKJv says helper comparable
NIv says helper

Bob understanding this for both men and women will help live better lives as couples.
Bob to my understanding no exegesis done, God was making eve as a partner to Adam, not a second hand human, not a maid but some with whom Adam can discuss, keep warm, go far. Two people working together with same direction in mind (like-minded). I don't think God was creating a cook, a washer girl, or a house keeper.
Remember the problem God was solving for Adam was "loneliness" not incapacity to accomplish.

Bob I suggest that you look for someone with whom you will do not someone who will do for you. otherwise the person looses themselves in doing for you.

it's quite nice saying Bob. is it a short name or a short form?

Edith, Bob is short form or nickname for Robert. And I agree with what you say about Eve being a partner for Adam. I've never considered either the husband or wife subservient to the other. They are 100% equal. I think a married couple should do whatever is necessary for each other. For about five years before my late wife passed I cooked for her, helped bathe her, helped her get dressed, did her laundry and much more. And I was very happy to do it. She had Alzheimer's, a disease of the mind. I took the words "in sickness and in health" seriously and still do. She also did so much for me when she was still able when I needed help. Neither of us ever complained. Now I'd love to have a partner to talk to, laugh and cry with, pray with, comfort and more.

I would have said "Rob" for Robert not Bob 🤦.

Bob sorry for your loss. You did well.
Your woman will be envied among women.

Rob is also used a lot in the U.S. but not quite as much as Bob. For me either is fine. And thank you so much for your comment Edith. You're a sweet soul :-)

Robert, Rob, Robby, Bob, Bobby... Roberta if you're being mean...

Nobody ever calls Roberts "Bobert" though. Maybe we should popularize that.

When I was a teenager, my friends and I called one of our friends "Blobert" because he was fat, lol!

He lost weight though in collage so we couldn't call him that anymore. :giggle:

Very beautiful...an excellent example of relationship/marriage goals, serving each other in love.

Hey lynx, how are you brother?
😁I may just use this on a Robert one day. I envy Roberts though, they have many short forms to their name, I wonder if mine can be shortened. it is already as short as a comma, no way to be romantic about it🤔

I don't even know where this thread is going to but I have a weird question.

Should a single get into any form of solo sexual satisfaction?
Read through the thread and saw no one wanted to touch this. Haha.

I'm sure it's been discussed in the past...

I would say I used to wonder the same thing but I now think not.

Haha, it came up fairly recently and quickly turned into a scriptural food-fight. One of the least chill threads I've ever seen in Singles.

Still nowhere near as bad as when it came up in Bible Discussion forum though! 😎
