Well Thanksgiving can stay on the list, the bible says to be thankful in all things for this is the will of God.... Just because the date is pagan in origin doesn't mean you can't give thanks to the true God and Creator of Heaven and earth.

Yes I have heard the Christmas date was chosen by the Catholic Church to replace a pagan holiday, but you get a day off, every thing is closed, why not celebrate the birth of Christ with friends and family, Bible says Eph 5:16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Or Col 4:5 Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.

Use it as a witnessing tool, and celebrate a day off work.

Easter yes it is a pagan holiday of fertility, but that is probably the devils work as it takes place around the time of Passover and the death, burial and resurrection of Christ.

That is what Timothy is for "Study to Shew thyself approved unto God a work man who needeth not to be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth. If your not Jewish, you don't need to celebrate Jewish Customs, if your Gentile you only need to follow what is outlined in the new testiment. However honouring or celebrating Jewish customs or holidays are optional.
Thats not correct we are commanded to obey the 613 commandments. Jesus didnt come abolish Torah he came to fulfill. There is a prophecy in Ezekiel saying
10 men will hold onto the tzitzit of a Jew and ask him to teach them Gods ways. The 7 feasts
Passover
Unleavened bread
First fruits
Feast of weeks
Blowing trumpets
Day of atonement
Tabernacles
These celebrations are of the highest importance. The first 4 Jesus the Messiah he completed them.
The last 3 are for his triumphant return.

Funny timing, as I recently broke fast from the Day of Atonement. Has anybody had interest in Leviticus 23? I was impressed to learn that those are God's "appointments" with us. It's made a fascinating study to try to "observe" these for the past several years, but I've learned a lot about Jesus from them. I'm not looking to start the usual fight of grace/faith or faith/law or whatever most of the threads devolve into. It's simply a fascinating study for anyone enjoying their Bibles.
Not at all i turned to Messianic Judaism because the catholic teachings left more questions than answers.
BTW following Jesus is contrary to the world so expect resistance. I did still do

That really should have more exclamation points, that thread title, but there is only limited space in the thread title slot...

This thread is for all the discussion about (insert holiday) being pagan. Let's get this over with before my egg nog gets cold.

HALLOWEEN IS PAGAN! It is a celebration of death, witchcraft and everything demonic, and if you so much as buy a candy bar in the month of October you are going to hell!

THANKSGIVING IS PAGAN! It was started by Native Americans who believe in all kinds of nature gods. Don't even look at the frozen turkeys at the supermarket until we are safely in December, or your soul could be in jeopardy!

CHRISTMAS IS PAGAN! Jesus wasn't born on December 25th and we can prove it, and to be safe you should avoid getting within 30 feet of any evergreen trees until the new year. We don't want the unwashed masses to be confused about our stance against tree worship.

Let's see... did I miss anything? I know there's Valentine's and Easter, but we'll do another run when they get closer. And we'll probably be too drunk to even post anything about St. Patrick's Day.

If I want a Snickers and I do care for Halloween I'm not going to hell. Christmas I only put up a nativity seen. No candles represent Jesus light of the world so I light one time to time but more of the fragrance I enjoy. Easter is just wrong other than celebrate the ressurection and I don't like the name Easter. Its a pagan God of fertility. Demonic. Valentines I hate. Forced emotion day. And a money sucker. Saint Patrick's a drunken thing I hate. I'm not wearing green. Thanksgiving. I despise I have native blood. But don't practice my ancestrial practice it's demonic. Ya. I celebrate birth and ressurection only period. Eternal damnation is not candy in a pagan season.
