Kind of. Ephesians 2:19-20...and of the household of God; and are built upon the foundation of the apostles and the prophets...
Some of the apostles were already writing scripture. John had already written a gospel and 3 epistles. He was already commissioned. But you could say he was a new testament prophet.
It is written both ways in Joel 2 and both of them are after the tribulation where they describe the day of the Lord.
Joel 2:10 The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining:
Joel 2:31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.

--the 7-year tribulation period unfolding upon the earth [2520 days]... the "IN the NIGHT" aspect;
--Christ's Second Coming to the earth Rev19... the "SUN of righteousness ARISE" aspect;
--the 1000-year earthly Millennial Kingdom age... the "reign... GLORIOUSLY" aspect [see Isa24:23, for example]
It is not merely "a singular 24-hr day" kind of "day"... there is MUCH which will transpire WITHIN it (judgments [not merely a singular 24-hr day's duration]... followed by blessings [also not merely a singular 24-hr day's duration]);
So depending on context, any given passage may refer to one or more of these THREE aspects (example: Joel, as you provided in your post above)
[for the readers: read both chapters of Isaiah 34-35 when ascertaining Peter's reference back to Isa34:4 in his 2Peter3 passage regarding "the Day of the Lord"... rather than just extracting v.4 out from its overall context and coming to the incorrect conclusion, as many tend to do, that it is referring to "a singular 24-hr day". It doesn't.
That's just one point among many more that could be put... but I wanted to make this post short and sweet

@Cameron143 possibly John was ordained to be a higher prophet, we had prophets who would see into God's kingdom and give us prophecies. In the middle east they where higher ranks.
To God I feal they where trusted more by him than he could trust other believers. . Scriptures indicates many believers fell short because they would boast with foreknowledge they receive.

@Thunderrr-mental , what’s fascinating is seeing the actual place where John wrote the Apocalypse.
Many people have been healed by visiting that place.

That was once true under the old covenant. It is not so under the new. The fulfillment of Joel 2:28 on Pentecost meant the Spirit was poured out on all flesh.
God does still choose people for particular roles in the church. But gifts are given to all believers.
There is little doubt that John was given a tremendous role in being an Apostle and being used to write scripture. But God has roles for all in the church. Not all are eyes or ears or mouths. But all make up the body of Christ and are important.

I understand the spiritual aspect very well. I know God is all caring all forgiving all trusting to all his children.
How do you feel about the scripture each person will be given a measure of faith,
I feal a small piece is enough to get by with. But should such person be entrusted with a bigger piece at first.
I could ask, but if its it's not be given at first, i sense and feel two things
God's knows when and where to give and should he give it before a person is ready they could well be in bigger trouble should they miss use that knowledge.
All tho this is not a salvation issue it would be a position I wouldn't want to be in.

I had to shut my computer down the other night, and then yesterday morning it would not start up properly (or at all, really), so I had to unplug it and let it run out the time before it turns itself off. Of course @Eli1 might know of some other way, but that has worked for me before. We have been so busy at work since the new school year started, so I have not been taking it to work, and it rarely gets shut down any more as a result; after a while, issues LOL. When it takes forever to open one of my collages or weird things start happening when I try to use a photoshop tool I know I need to take drastic measures .
. That's the second time recently I have had to unplug it. Thankfully I have a backup laptop. Haha then I keep trying to use the mouse on it when it has a working touch pad .

There is faith that is associated with salvation. There is also the gift of faith that is listed with the gifts given to believers. Both are imparted by the Spirit, but are different.
It is true that God does come to us at the perfect time. But He would know, right?
