We make God superman.. He can create the heavens and the earth in as little as 6 days.

Adam, was perfect. He could do things we can not fathom, But he was not God.. But he could do whatever God told him to do, because God empwers those who are his to do what he desires.. So again, All credit is given to God. Not adam.

You make Adam, Superman....and Eve, Wonder Woman.

Elijah went up to heaven in a windstorm... is Elijah superman?

Did Elijah do all that Adam did in a supposed period of 24hrs?

as I read it, God is the one who realizes that adam needs a helper.

Then why was his helper not already created at the same time as Adam?

Answer....because a large amount of time had passed...

how many animals do you figure adam named?

The same as boarded the Ark.

When God says he won't curse the ground again, to me that says the ground isn't currently cursed when God says that.
(certainly it was before.)

compare what Lamech basically says in genesis 5,
"Noah will comfort us in our work and in the toil of our hands, caused by the ground which the Lord has cursed."

note part of the curse, "thorns and thistles it shall grow for you,
and you will eat the plants of the field."
post-flood, noah plants a vineyard which is successful enough to get drunk on.
also post-flood, humans are allowed to eat meat.

to me, this is also important: here in the mid-west usa, there are lots of fields loaded with soybeans and corn.
imo, this wouldn't be possible if the ground is still cursed, unless human technology can overcome God's curse.

all flesh will die if Jesus doesn't return in time... that sounds right.
I expect Jesus will return before then,
so God won't destroy every living thing.

Have you ever farmed before?

If you did, I do not think you would say this.

oddly enough, about the "only God is good"

Jesus basically says, "No one is good except one, and that's God."
Yes, agreed. My response you are referring to was in defense of an earlier post. Liked it so much I'll say it again...isn't God good? :)

You make God human, Weak. And powerless.

As a YEC, you put Adam over that of Jesus Christ.

You have the gall to have Adam coming into this world as an Adult....over that of Jesus Christ coming into this world as a babe!

Your pathetic worldview is duly noted...

That is the Bible view. God is who did it that way. Man was made a full modern man, while Jesus was born a babe as prophesied. Your argument is with God, who is not on record agreeing with any worldview.

By the way, human fossils from caves are establishing that there were no different species of man. The popular art poster of a parade of creatures, from ape gradually transforming to an erect modern man has corrupted untold numbers of minds. The fact is that all humans were the same as today, though genetically isolated to develop after the Tower of Babel caught God's attention. Apes have always been apes, birds have always been birds, dinosaurs were dinosaurs, bears bears, whales whales.

It's obvious some claiming to be Christian are desperately seeking a way out of God's way. Open your eyes, lest Satan finally seal them shut forever.

Bowman, I'm thoroughly convinced that you're a professional troll. There's no way you're this stupid.

God planted the first garden, let Adam tend it. Upon his sin the ground fell under the same curse man and all of creation did, produce from the ground requiring much labor with sweat of the brow. It's still a constant struggle to raise crops where weeds, insects, diseases, drought and floods oppose that effort. Men sweat a little less now due to greater technology, but that has brought about GMOs designed to resist those problems, resulting in food we might not find healthy. Non-GMO foods are becoming more popular as the science world begins to cast doubt on the new technology.

The healthiest way is to deal with the curse of those problems, plant heritage seed, break out the hoe, and plant lots of marigolds and other species that repel bugs, and turn a handful of ladybugs loose once a month. You can buy them by the pound. But because of the curse, you will still sweat, and be sore and hot, sunburned often.

So who was going to raise adam? Was he raised by Apes? Was he called Tarzan king of the jungle???

You do not think at all do you?? All you did my making this statement is prove you have no desire to discuss anything.. Your right, everyone else is wrong thats it. end of story.

And you are still here how??

I have seen some intelligent people believe in YEC, but bowman cuts the cake,, He can't believe the things he says, unless he really is that .... (I do not want to say the word) ..

God did say He cursed the ground to Adam because of what he did. But that still didn't account for the event in Jeremiah 4:23-28 where God showed He placed this earth in a state of bondage with the earth mourning.

in other words everything is up for grabs we havn't got an inspired text

myself, I wouldn't say up for grabs.

I like to use Luke's approach, which seems to be "close enough is good enough."

if I remember right, the subject came up because there was a question of how much benefit there is in learning hebrew.

give or take a million or two if he named all those on the planet

I suppose different numbers would be arrived at using different methods.

like, is adam naming every species? or family?
does he name both black bear and brown bear, or does he just name 'bear'?

or, does adam naming every beast of the field mean that adam gave person names to each individual animal, like we name pets today?

how did you arrive at one or two million?
did at least two of each named animal or animal type travel to the ark?

Did Elijah do all that Adam did in a supposed period of 24hrs?

no, elijah didn't do what adam did.

humans aren't able to fly on windstorms.

superman is able to fly.

elijah isn't superman, even though he flew in a storm.

adam isn't superman, even though he names a lot of animals in a short time.

we don't know how long he spent on each animal. (maybe just a flash in his mind? a mind can process a lot of images in a few hours.)

also, he has God helping him, just as elijah had God helping him.

Then why was his helper not already created at the same time as Adam?

Answer....because a large amount of time had passed...

I think adam was created first so they would have different roles.

"a man ought not to have his head covered, since he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of man."

and

"through one man sin entered into the world."

Have you ever farmed before?

If you did, I do not think you would say this.

possibly! here's my experience with farming:

in so cal, where I grew up, trying to grow some corn for fun.
turned out to be a lot of work, for very little return.

as an adult, in the midwest, I threw out some old dried beans that I didn't want anymore, just tossed them in the backyard. I did nothing else to them. a few weeks later there were large, healthy bean plants. (it was late in the season, so they didn't produce beans.)

my idea was that riding in a giant combine with a/c isn't the 'sweat of your face' related to the curse. unless 'sweat' also means 'stress'... which there is a lot of in our society.
though, I think, the time we spend in stressful activity to get food is only about an hour or two a day.

another idea: Hebrews 6 says some kinds of ground receive a blessing from God, other kinds are close to being cursed. just close, though, which seems strange if all ground is still cursed.

amen to that! I just meant that "only God is good" is a christian idea.

if muslims use it also, then great, as long as they mean the true God.

I know farmers, they spend alot of money for fertilizer and weed control Because the ground is still cursed.

I plant gardens myself. Every year I have trouble with weeds, and stuff not growing like it would in an uncursed earth

I have a yard i have spent countless hours toiling in pain to get in good shape. after 4 years, it still is not there yet.

The earth is still cursed, and growning, Until The lord returns and restore's it.

I doubt we will agree with this.. so better to move on.
