I disagreed with the way he worded his post too, I just avoided it, hoping another argument wouldn't arise.lol
Darn... I never learn...

A real christian? What is a real christian?
To say that a person that struggles with Alcoholism is not a real Christian is so mean! I guess that people with disabilites are not real christians either since they have a strange disease or a low intelligence?
Wow... your view on Christianty is more like a racist religion...

Honestly, if it's a sin to be who you are, then I am not sure why people follow Christianity. Those who are gay are being true to themselves, and it's always makes me wonder how a person can say that being gay is a sin, while a few minutes before they were saying that the person should be who they are . . . .Upfront (not that it matters), I am not gay.
That being said, I don't know how I feel about whether or not being gay and acting on it is a sin or not...but right now, I'm thinking that it's not. Again: I DON'T KNOW ECACTLY HOW I FEEL.
I know all of the verses that people use to point out that it is wrong and not how God created it.
BUT, I've also heard views on the other side of it. I also study a bit of ancient history in school and know that man-on-man action in the Bible wasn't what it is today. Then, it was talking about rape and that has never been ok. (I also don't have all the facts on this.)
I know Christians who are gay and are ok with God. They feel that it is not a sin (and I know they aren't justifying their sin by saying this--they've actually experienced God's comfort in who they are with this...meaning that they are gay).
So, I was wondering if anyone on here is gay and would like to share how they feel in their relationship with God on this.
Comments from straight people are welcome, too, of course.
I've just been incredibly curious and confused about this for a while.
Very true....we all have struggles man. I have my own personal struggles. You are trying and fighting against your struggles and thats great. We have moments of weakness and that doesnt make our Christianity void.If I was trying to justify sin I'd still be gay.. So no, I'm not justifying sin. I'm simply saying God understands your struggle.![]()

You don't get gay by getting raped... or are you now blaming the catholic church for all homosexuality in the world. They seem to like to bugger little boys. What if they were raped when they were younger

actually, homosexuality is a learned behavior, caused from multiple things. Rape, lack of a father, (I had the lack of a father and was looking for that love from a man.) It's proven.
Everything I have read about homosexuality is that it is unknown and that it seems to be both genetical and social (probably a mix).
Interesting link of the studies done: Homosexuality: Nature or Nurture in AllPsych Journal
And if Nature is to seen as a measuring stock for whats normal or not it is quite common among animals... allthough I don't know any stuides that has been done on "rape" or that the father was not there.

LOL..
like I say all the time.. Let's say you really are born gay... that doesn't mean you can't change.
Babies are born with cancer, and healed. Change is always the best option. Why limit God, ya know?
Of course you can change. The human will is remarkable. I mean you can force yourself to have sex with a gender that you are not attracted to or as some does (catholic priests for example) not have sex at all.
I just say that I don't think you need to change that, homosexuality like race, colour and fetishes is nothing that is wrong unless it hurts someone else. I have gay friends and they are just like my other friends - they just get attracted and want to live with their own gender.
But... then I am against stoning, slavery and all those other things that the bible mentions and that I say are signs of the age it was written in and the minds of the authours. But... that subject we have already discussed![]()
I changed my sexuality, and it made me 100's times happier. Sin only keeps you happy for a season. /:
I am glad that it worked for you
Esp with the belief that you you live in a homosexual relationship you would not be saved...
If I may point something out, hislastwalk, you seem to only have one or two arguments, while nattmaran seems to have more and two different sources to back her argument up . . . just felt that I should point that out . . .
I am not saying that someone who struggles against Alcoholism isn't a christian, but God teaches us in 1 John that unless you are striving for righteousness, "Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous (1 John 3:7)." "For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed (John 3:20)." If you are struggling against temptation that you are practicing and striving for righteousness, but if you are living in sin and accepting sin as normal or ok (ie Gay Christians) then they like it saying in 1 John 1, "walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth." You may not like the harshness of this concept but Jesus does not teach tolerance to sin no matter how you look at it.
One source for telling how someone become gay that was written years ago, vs two proven scientific ways that have been backed up by researchers . . .
