The problem is, when a person states that a particular sin is wrong, then people assume that they hate the person who is committing the sin....which is wrong

Do you find it irritating that the law in your country that you live in forbids you to sell your daughter as a slave? I mean... according to God it is okay but now you are shackled?

Yes... but I want to know what you think you know? Not passages in the bible? And of course you can base your thoughts on those passages... but to me it is like a pie recepie and I am wondering why you want to bake that pie... or ehum... something...

This would be where we go into philosophy. Unfortunately, I do believe that would be very far from the topic of this thread.

Of course... and then we can say that any god can be true and yada yada yada...

You say that you'll have to trust the book... But I still say that you'll have to trust yourself in your search.

Its just two ways to look at it. You walk the wrong path both cases I would say. But if you only say that THIS or THAT book is the truth.. then every religion can be right depending in what country you are born or just what faith you stumble over.

If you are looking for yourself... doubting and reading... I think you have a greater chance of finding God.

Yes... I don't know why it is such a big deal... Adult people that are in love with one another should (in my regard) be free to do whatever they wish and live in any kind of relationship they like as long as it not hurt others...

It is strange that christians are very angry against gay people but why arent ther a bigger outrage against the child molestations in the catholic church? There you have a clear victim and a "Man of god" (because female priest would be soooo wrong) a problem that should be rooted out I think. I mean... had any other kind of company (and yes... I think you can sort of compare the catholic church with a company) done that - say Microsoft - people would boycot them.

And we have not even touched the question of gay marrige... but when it comes to that I have an manly man on my side

God isn't pro-gay marriage, but he is pro-choice. Because love doesn't demand..

It is true that a lot of the time churches will pick on certain sins and pretty much over look other sins and this is wrong, no argument here. However, if you stand up and proclaim that stealing is a sin, everyone will nod their head in agreement. But if you stand up and proclaim homosexuality is wrong, sometimes you'll get mixed reactions.

When you steal you remove peoples posessions and in that way hinder their life and hurt em. Sure it is not as bad as abuse or killing but it is still something that hurts your fellow man.

Homosexuality is not. Homosexuality is just the same as racism. You are angry at something that arent actually your business.

And you say stealing is wrong and a sin. I would say it depends. If you steal to stop your children from starving I would not call it a sin.

And... wow... I just realised that the Western world and the US in particular are damned for good. You have allowed your goverment to steal and wreak havoc in most of the world sucking out resources and using people. So... if God is that strict... you are in trouble.

Since what GOD offers as punishment for those sins is an eternity of suffering I would say that he is not giving a Loving choice.

But... the God I know is not a God of hate and punishments. You are looking at things that are written 2000 years ago in a different era with primitive people.

Upfront (not that it matters), I am not gay.

That being said, I don't know how I feel about whether or not being gay and acting on it is a sin or not...but right now, I'm thinking that it's not. Again: I DON'T KNOW ECACTLY HOW I FEEL.

I know all of the verses that people use to point out that it is wrong and not how God created it.

BUT, I've also heard views on the other side of it. I also study a bit of ancient history in school and know that man-on-man action in the Bible wasn't what it is today. Then, it was talking about rape and that has never been ok. (I also don't have all the facts on this.)

I know Christians who are gay and are ok with God. They feel that it is not a sin (and I know they aren't justifying their sin by saying this--they've actually experienced God's comfort in who they are with this...meaning that they are gay).

So, I was wondering if anyone on here is gay and would like to share how they feel in their relationship with God on this.

Comments from straight people are welcome, too, of course.

The reality is this, the label Gay Christian is an oxymoron. Just like a Murdering Christian, or an Alcoholic Christian or a Bank Robber Christian, etc. If you are living a life of sin, which homosexuality is, then you are not a real christian.

To say that a person that struggles with Alcoholism is not a real Christian is so mean! I guess that people with disabilites are not real christians either since they have a strange disease or a low intelligence?
