no, it was actually exactly the predicted size, and was observed at exactly the predicted places at exactly the predicted time.

zetetic models on the other hand either predict no such thing as eclipses, solar or lunar, at all, or predict them several times per day at every location on earth -- depending on details that you guys never seem to actually fill in ((y'all tend to just change the subject when the question comes up, because frankly anything you say becomes obviously contradictory))

Perhaps, but who taught you? How do you really know for 100% certainly that what you have been taught is true and not some concoction? I would really like to know how it is that you came to believe that the earth is flat. What is it that makes you believe that what you were taught is really true?

I believe that the government lies all of the time and that through the years the schools have taught a lot of nonsense but not everything is nonsense or for that matter a lie.

I don't have a 100% certainty that the earth is round because I have never been into space. My belief is based, whether true or false, on the evidence I have seen. I have noticed a curve to the earth when flying though I would not say that this is conclusive evidence to support my belief.

Really, how do we know anything that happened in the past is true? Maybe the whole thing is a lie. That really wouldn't surprise me. The only thing that I know for 100% certainty is the truth contained in the Word of God, that Jesus died for my sins, that the Holy Spirit lives inside of me and guides me and that I will spend eternity in the presence of God.

At that time the question of whether the earth is flat or round will be put to rest as it would be irrelevant as there will be a new heaven and a new earth.

Probably round. :)

From school, personal observations looking at space, TV, common sense, etc. If you take off in a plane and travel in any direction you will eventually end up at the starting point. This has been proven and not just on TV but by pilots, crew and passengers. This is impossible on a flat earth because to get to the point of origin flying continuously in the same direction you would fly off the edge of the earth and would have to fly underneath.

You would have to go pretty far back to find the origins of the conspiracy, yes. Could you explain the satellites then, please?

It is impossible for a rocket to leave the earth 'cause it would hit the protective dome, at least that's what I've been told. As far as I'm concerned NASA could send up a rocket and blast a hole in the thing. Screw the dome.

so you're saying sunsets, sunrises, seasons, coriolis effects, inertia, eclipses, phases of the moon & the inner planets, magnetic fields etc. are caused by trolls and goblins and angels and demons? and that's why there's no such thing as a consistent & coherent zetetic physical model that is useful in any way for any kind of prediction?

yes, actually, i like to challenge atheists to apply it to the cosmos as a system. it's almost always something they have never even considered, and they usually don't think that a 'Jesus nut' has ever heard of such a thing - if they've even heard of it themselves. i'm also fond of pointing out the observer effect ((re: de Broglie et al)) as it relates to corporeal reality as an whole.
 
I propose an experment to put this matter to rest. Go to a relatively flat spot on earth (easily done if earth is flat) such as the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. Mount a laser on a tripod and set up a target a mile away, both the laser and target set at the exact same height relative to sea level. Fire the laser at the target.

If the earth is flat and there is no curvature the laser will exactly hit the target.

If the earth is round and there is curvature the laser will miss the target by the amound of caluculated curvature over a distance of a mile, whether it be 7.98 inches or 7.98 inches squared.

Now don't say that the government has the area off limits becauces that's simply not true. I kow for a fact that Area 51 is in Nevada and not Utah. I saw this on X-Files.
