Most of the translations have actually relied on the KJV and mansucripts they have used. it would be a lot of work to re-translate into other langauages directly from Hebrew and Greek when the their arent many Hebrew and greek translators speaking and writing in other lanagauges so the english is used. And the gold standard has been KJV for over 400 years.

there are a few spots I hate the words they use, I think it leads to a particular view I believe the interpreters had. But I had no problem with it usually. Have not used one in years though

In North American English, we sometimes use the phrase, "raining cats and dogs". A formal translation such as the KJV or NASB would render that literally, and in another language (eg. "Il pleut les chiens et les chats" or something close in French), it would likely be indecipherable. unless you knew the English idiom. A dynamic translation would render the sense of it: "it's raining heavily" and the reader would readily understand.
This is why there is no single "correct" way to translate, and why the "KJV is perfect" argument is wrong from the outset.

This is why I said if we actually truly interpreted Greek and Hebrew this is what we would have to do, and the Word for word people would probably not like it, even though it more closely represents what was said
Parallel Bibles are terrific. You can read 2 or more versions in parallel online which can be very useful.
I like the NASB/CSB in parallel. But online you can switch them quickly. You could have the KJV in parallel with the NIV if you wanted.

"Snowflake" is a mild derogative applied to someone who gets offended way too easily and who typically demands that everyone else accomodates his or her hypersensitivity by changing their language, practices, and even socio-political views.
so my question about the thread question itself is "snow flake" ? Are you the forum expert and everyone else is wrong ? So, my favourite translation is the KJV. That being my choice, is that a problem for you ?Not in the least. I was playing off the "offended" bit.
It's not. He has said he has read the KJV. Why try to make something out of this that it isn't?
The friction always or nearly always begins with the KJVO proponents going on the offensive.
Someone only has to say "The KJV isn't my favourite" or "I read the NASB" and it kicks off.
Can't we just appreciate that we have a wealth of Bibles at our fingertips? It's a GOOD thing. A blessing.

it was not directed at you, but those who get offended at minimal stuff. Like toe KJV o liners being offended that someone dare read or prefer the NASB,
