Christian doctrine?
1 From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?
2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
Who is James speaking to? Who does this describe? Certainly not the early Jewish believers that were scattered in Acts 8.
Who is James speaking to?
I've already shown you.
Would you like to see it again?
Sure, no problem:
"My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons." (James 2:1)
All throughout the epistle of James, he is speaking to his "brethren" or those who have "the faith of OUR Lord Jesus Christ".
Got it?
In the verse just cited, he was reproving HIS CHRISTIAN BRETHREN in relation to being "respecters of persons".
In the verses that you're asking about, he is again addressing things which ought not be found in CHRISTIANS.
In fact, if we back up just a little bit earlier in this very same epistle, then we read:
James chapter 3
[
8] But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
[
9]
Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.
[
10] Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing.
My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
Again, these "brethren" were blessing "God, EVEN THE FATHER".
In case you haven't yet heard, NOBODY has the Father unless they have THE SON:
"Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. " (I John 2:23)
Now, will you deny THIS BIBLICAL TRUTH as well in order to persist in your error?
Time will tell.
