I tend to believe everything happens because it suppose to happen. What are your guys thoughts on that?
No, not everything just “supposed to happen” in the passive sense you mean. That’s a dangerous trap that cheapens God’s sovereignty and lets evil off the hook.
Yes, God is sovereign—He rules over all things, working all things together for good (Romans 8:28). But that doesn’t mean everything is ordained to happen without cause or consequence. Scripture makes clear there is real spiritual warfare, real evil, real rebellion, and real judgment. Sin is not God’s will; it’s man’s rebellion and the devil’s domain—allowed by God’s permissive will, but never His perfect plan.
God’s sovereignty is never an excuse for passivity or fatalism. We are called to choose life or death, blessing or curse (Deuteronomy 30:19), to fight the good fight of faith (1 Timothy 6:12), to repent, to walk in holiness. Evil exists because of free will and the fall, not because God forced it.
The Bible never teaches a passive “everything happens because it’s supposed to” theology that kills responsibility. Instead, it calls for urgent repentance, vigilance, and faithfulness because the enemy prowls like a roaring lion seeking whom to devour (1 Peter 5:8).
So, trust God’s sovereign plan—but never excuse sin, apathy, or despair by saying “it’s just supposed to happen.” The cross shows us that even the worst evil was used for God’s glory and our salvation, but it was still waged against God’s enemies and broken by His power.
Walk boldly, repent daily, and fight spiritually. Don’t settle for fatalism dressed up as divine will.
