Proverbs 17:22
A happy heart is like good medicine. But a broken spirit drains your strength.
Romans 8:7 NLT - "For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God's laws, and it never will."

I do not see how your test applies to proverbs text.Romans 8:7 NLT - "For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God's laws, and it never will."
Did Santa send you to this forum?Or, as many in this thread have suggested . . . just do the worldly thing and bypass Scripture/obedience altogether. And no wonder that we'd choose disobedience, for the moment I bring up the issue of acknowledging and obeying Scripture, trolls come at me like flies on fresh meat.
Did Santa send you to this forum?
See I have been feeling like the forum was getting a bit dull. I wrote a letter to Santa asking for something to spice things up around here, a little entertainment.
Did you get referred to this forum by a fat guy with a big white beard, in a really fuzzy red suit with a really wide black belt around the waist?
If you see him again, tell him I said thank you.

Ayup!
Doesn't keep them from going to Graceland.
Absolutely. The Holy Spirit is called 'The comforter' for good reason.
It isn't a test. It's Scripture pointing out that willful disobedience is the result of not having turned to Christ for the removal of the Sinful Nature, the very Purpose of Christ. Until the Curse of the Sinful Nature has been removed, we remain "dead" to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Colossians 2:11, 13 NLT - "When you came to Christ, you were "circumcised," but not by a physical procedure. Christ performed a spiritual circumcision--the cutting away of your sinful nature. ... 13 You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins."
Hence, post #3. The most "loving" post anyone is capable of offering (the Holy Truth).
The Holy Truth needs to apply before it is applied. And I guess that is the point @Lanolin is making.
The OP author is a sister and she became a believer ten years ago. She was abused in her marriage and is separated according to her profile - not divorced. She was married at least ten years so it would be reasonable to believe that she came to faith when she was already married. The rest of what she expresses in the OP is essentially a cry for support. So because she is a sister in the Lord - then it is that meaning which is needful and not necessarily a form of doctrine. Just how I see it brother.
Hello and welcome to CC!
As you are fairly newly single, I would encourage you to subscribe to the daily devotional from DivorceCare.org. It is biblically sound wisdom specifically for your situation. I see someone already mentioned them.
Otherwise, lean on the Lord and trust Him to work in you for healing. It will likely take longer than you think.![]()
Thank you, I will do that.
And, don't worry, I ignore people like 2Timothy. He doesn't worship Jesus Christ. He worships the same god the pharisees worshiped, and it's not the God of the Bible.
OP you say you are used to married life and living in comfort. I guess its because you had wife who might have cooked you meals or made the bed and dried your tears or whatever.
Ah good. I was concerned he might scare you away.Thank you, I will do that.

How on earth do I do this? I already miss the comforts of married life (though I don't miss the abuse). Always having someone to go do things with. Boy is that now a thing of the past. I also get very anxious at the thought of social situations. I'm just a mess.
