what in the world does Paul believing the testimony of Moses and the prophets have to do with whether God ever blinds hearts or not? the scales fell off of Saul's eyes and he became known as Paul. there is no veil over the apostle's heart.

and Paul fulfilling prophesy that the Jews would bind him, by taking a voluntary oath, does not make Paul 'observing the law of Moses' -- that's frankly a laughable conclusion
Unfortunately, you didn't realize who wrote that scripture you posted to support your point(?) and from the Book of 2nd Corinthians. Otherwise, you would know how Paul pertains.
Sadly, sarcasm appears to be part of your theology.

are you trying to say you think Paul still has a veil over his heart whenever he reads Moses?

i have no clue what you think you are adding to the discussion by saying "and yet he believed in the old testament" -- i think you mean Saul the Pharisee, not Paul the Apostle?? do you mind explaining your comment?

I mind your misrepresenting what I actually said and in order to do that, corrupting the scriptures I posted. I know that's how you do things here. It appears to be a habit of record. Therefore, I'll leave you with your understanding of the Bible so that mine is not disrespected by your further efforts. I encountered another one here that posts your same way. It is either an agenda, or a virus.
God help us.

just trying to ask you what you mean by this & what it has to do with the thread topic:

And yet the Saint Apostle Paul believed in the Old Testament and lived in observance of the law.

no reason for you to start slanderously personally attacking me.

:)

I agree. And that is why the sentence you excerpted from my post doesn't apply to you one iota.

that sentence was the entirety of your post, and you posted it quoting my post.

let's recap:

the thread is about whether God withholds understanding or not. if you've read it i think it's pretty clear that i see that scripture definitely affirms that He does. you wrote:

What a God it would be that would first inspire the Bible and then create a block that insures only His select few can understand it. Hearkens back to the Calvinist, TULIP formula. God predestined people to be saved, and die damned.

and i showed you 2 Corinthians showing that God put a veil over the hearts of Israel. you responded by writing:

And yet the Saint Apostle Paul believed in the Old Testament and lived in observance of the law.

the blue bit, where you said Paul lived in observance of the law, is a link to Acts 21, where everywhere Paul goes, the Spirit tells him the Jews will bind him and hand him over to Rome. he says he's willing not only to be bound but to die. the Jews try to coerce him to take a voluntary oath ((not a commandment of the law at all)) and then the Romans physically bind him, not the Jews. so we know what the Spirit signified and we know using this to say Paul was living as though under Moses is a ridiculous argument.

i have no idea why you think Paul believing the old testament is in any way whatsoever a relevant comment to make.
i have been trying to ask you what you mean by saying it, and you have been personally attacking me instead of responding to my request for clarification.

Lets recap and you still get it wrong

No He doesnt, actually people keep themselves from undertanding the Bible, you can understand the Bible if you simply pray and ask the author!

also Satan does blind people from understanding, keeps them in darkness etc. remember satan is not God, satan is only 'the god of this world' i.e thinks he's God but he isnt.

But because of Jesus being our light we can all understand the Bible as He is the one who opens scripture to us.

Luke 9:44-45 King James Version (KJV)
44 Let these sayings sink down into your ears: for the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men.

45 But they understood not this saying, and it was hid from them, that they perceived it not: and they feared to ask him of that saying.

Luke 18
31 Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished.

32 For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on:

33 And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again.

34 And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken.

Blessed is the man who finds wisdom,
and the man who gains understanding

You need to read abit further on in acts when the Holy spirit is given after the resurrection.

The Holy Spirit gives understanding to those who ask and receive. Its true the disciples were a bit dense cos it wasnt revealed to the just yet even though Jesus was standing right in front of them in the flesh lol They had to believe that he rose again from the dead and then the lightbulb goes on....

Jesus told them many times but they couldnt see it.. until they saw Him resurrected with their own eyes.

Yes I agree

The point was He can hide or give understanding

Jesus spoke to them in parables and said they cannot see or hear lest they be converted and God should heal them....sin blinds but God can blind too or harden like Pharoh the devil can take seed away...the Word of God....but those who want truth of God and to obey will find Him
