Demons can and do occupy the soul. One of Satan's great lies is that Christians can't have a demon. That means fighting the wrong enemy so you'll never get free. The church has become pathetic over the decades. One reason is that Christians are not taught that deliverance is necessary and more than possible.

Demons did not automatically flee when Jesus was present in person. So why would they flee when a person s born again? Jesus commanded the evil spirit to depart. He commanded His disciples to do as He did.

Christ Jesus won, not Satan.

No demon can inhabit a born again believer.

Whatever your position is, please support it with scripture which can then be scrutinized by everybody here in order to determine whether or not those scriptures truly say what anybody here might claim they say in context.

I trust that we all believe that Christians can be oppressed or harassed outwardly by demons, but that is not my question.

Btw, I am not starting this thread in order to set off another all-too-common ruckus here in the BDF. Instead, as we all should already know, if we are honest with ourselves, there are a lot of Christians in this world who are struggling tremendously with things like depression, all sorts of illnesses or diseases, and lust (especially in a sexual sense), and I am seeking to address and determine whether or not things like this could sometimes be directly related to demons dwelling inside of them. In other words, my goal is to potentially help people to be delivered from various torments, and not to set off some sort of free-for-all here, so please present your cases civilly, respectfully, and with scriptural backing.

yes. a Christian can allow a demon in his or her life. think of a Christian going thru some real harsh times. the devil will seep in & he knows all your weaknesses. he attacks, & you begin to entertain sinful thoughts. next thing you know, hours or days have passed & you're trapped. 1st John 4:4 teaches: "you are of God little children & have overcome them, for greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world".
 
The problem is that too many so-called Christians are giving place to the devil. If you, as a "Christian," have a demon dwelling in you, as the thread asked, you are not a Christian. You are not born again but fooled again.

If one wants to agree with you, they can lose their salvation and betray the faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and be overtaken by a demon, which, if that can't happen, then the only other option is that the devil is greater than God, who can enter the blood-bought Christian and God can't choose.

Both the ones saved have an issue, and those who say yes, it can happen. There is nothing in the Word of God that says it can happen.

Satan reentered Heaven and conferred with God after losing the war. And being cast to Earth .

Any Christian who thinks the kingdom of God can be accessed by Satan,with God's permission in the heavenly realms but cannot enter the mortal in which the kingdom of God resides, by God's election, are being inconsistent in proclaiming they believe the Bible is God breathed.

Satan can enter Heaven and talk with God. But he can't enter a Christian indwelt by God's holy Spirit.

Heaven isn't as secure as mortal human Christians against the Devil's entry?

But he did not dwell in God, did he? and he was on his knees. Your logic is flawed. The devil can test, tempt, and steal kill and destroy.

He doesn't have the right to endwell the Saved Person; they are Christ's and He is Supreme. Satan is a spirit being, and the devil can enter heaven by permission. Or invitation. The created doesn't have power over the Creator.

Yes. "Christians" are as easily "Demonized" as anybody else when they get sloppy in their relationship with God. And the Bible uses "Daemonizimai" which isn't "Demon possession" in the Hollywood sense - it means to be oppressed, or driven by a demonic entity, which a person can drive out themselves, unless they are deep into it which may require the ministry of Deliverance to handle. From what "Deliverance ministries" have observed, sometimes when a deliverance is performed there will be a physical reaction - Vomiting, shaking etc.

I think not a lot of people take the topic seriously.

Satan reentered Heaven, God's Kingdom. All of creation is his of course. Yet,Satan not only entered Heaven after being cast out,he talked with God.

Then you may encounter those who insist the Christian has more security against that happening than does God in his own house.

If demon possession was possible for a born again believer, that would defy what it is to be born again (being set free) and the protections God gives to His children.
 
What a mess. People don't know the difference between possessed & oppressed.
True Christians can't be possessed no way, shape, or form.
But they can be oppressed, which is Satan controlling from the outside.

Their nature's are completely opposite of Christians. Its either one or the other the bible says we can only one master. Matt 6:24 Though we can be foolish at times. Titus 3:3 Oil and water don't mix.
 
Does make me wonder. Well say I had a demon.. I was told they fear in terror just that name Yeshua/Jesus yet oddly I can sing His praises and worship Him and say that name over and over and yet does not seem to bother that demon at all. And oddly God talks to me shows me things and.. seems that demon is ok with that also.

What mattes most is just what can God do about it? Its so easy to be free for He said anyone that calls on His name shall be delivered/saved. He said it to Sarah "what is to hard for the lord".

Acts16: 16 One day as we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a slave girl with a spirit of divination, who earned a large income for her masters by fortune-telling. 17This girl followed Paul and the rest of us, shouting, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who are proclaiming to you the way of salvation!” 18She continued this for many days.
