It is. Or you can pay for supposedly better results. Is it a free site?
I'm for sure not impressed.
I'll give it a few more weeks and probably hang it up and go back to the old fashioned "hope to meet someone in real life ".

On a show I watch 'House Hunters' w/couples looking for homes, many of the couples say they met online. I'm pretty sure they must have cost them to register. E-Harmony and live chat on YT are two sites I know where people met their spouses. It is. Or you can pay for supposedly better results.

I don't doubt it works. My sister in law and her husband met online. And I know of others too.On a show I watch 'House Hunters' w/couples looking for homes, many of the couples say they met online. I joined a Christian site and on the second day I had a woman add me requesting financial help. I’ve heard of scammers on these sites but I felt guilty turning my back on this person. Luckily the very next day a couple people exposed her. God has a devine plan for his children, we just have to be patient thru prayer. Hopefully thru our journey we’ll meet our significant other. It's been a while since I've been here. Hello!
So recently, I joined a christian dating site. I was nervous and apprehensive about doing so for quite some time.
Well, now I have no idea what I was nervous about. There are only a handful of people there that I would want to talk to, based on their profiles. There are so many that are very generic. A few lines that are very vague about who they are and what they are looking for.
Here are a few examples...some paraphrasing since I cannot remember them word for word.
"God fearing woman looking for a God fearing man." (What does that mean? Could it be any more vague?)
"Looking for my best friend that could lead to marriage" (A little better, but still nothing to make me want to message them.)
"Here is a recent pic of me (suggestive profile pic) message me if you like what you see." (Highly likely a scammer. Also scammers are very common. They give me the most activity.)
"I'm looking for a man who puts God first in his life and someone that I can spend the rest of my life with." (Good things, but it's a christian dating site. Aren't most of the people there looking for that?)
So those are a few examples of what I'm talking about. There are some that are really informative and makes me want to ask more questions and get to know someone more, but they haven't logged on in 6 months or more.
I have to be honest, I am hardly impressed with it so far.
so if you ever join one, if possible, tell about yourself and give some idea of who you are. I mean, those examples of descriptions above...they have to more interesting than that! They cannot be that boring, can they?
I am not trying to be mean, so if that is what it seems like...sorry.
I actually find it a bit amusing.
Hi Tararose (great profile name by the wayI have been on several Christian dating sites. One had a chat room which was frequented by both sincere folks and scammers alike. I made really good friendships - male and female- through the chat and met a couple of people. I did get caught o it by a scammer, thankfully no funds involvedi don’t go on now as it was never very good for actually finding a partner but I know a couple who were married through there, fusion101 which is a free Christian site, also Christian cafe did result in a few positive experiences for me. I only had a few feee trials with them and never paid to stay on though. The chat on fusion101 was taken down years back so I came off there as it was harder to get a feel for who people were from just profiles and I wasn’t getting anywhere anyway. I Gave up on finding romance and so moved over to the Christian social network they made, and also landed here
It’s far less stressful and I think healthier to just get to know people generally and leave the rest to God. That’s just me though and I do know it had worked for some. (I also know people who have had Creepy stalkers Lurking in their gardens and following them to work every morning in their cars etc. soooo you do have to be mega careful!)
I met my wife on this site who is also a member shortly after I joined. No polygraph or background checks were performed. It all worked out great and we will be celebrating our 6th anniversary in November. If you meet someone online, maybe a polygraph and background check are necessary to be safe?
