A mother does not have to be a wife to be a mother. Nor prayed to or worshiped.she is not God's wife. She is not to be worshiped or prayed to
So what?
A mother does not have to be a wife to be a mother. Nor prayed to or worshiped.she is not God's wife. She is not to be worshiped or prayed to
Please Mary did not give birth to God. Mary was only the vessel through which God prepared a body for Himself. Mary had nothing to do with the event save to surrender herself to be used of God.If you believe that Jesus is God then you have to believe that Mary is the mother of God.
Or you are denying the divinity of the virgin birth of Jesus to his mother Mary and Father, God.
No, she is not the wife of God anymore than we are. But realize, God created the woman who would be His mother. She gave flesh to His divinity. She did not fear the angel, and said, "Fiat!" God created her to be His mother. She was not some simple tool, but the woman who bore, bathed, watched, cared for, cried for, loved, and cuddled the Lord. Maybe we Catholics go too far in your eyes, but to us, protestants don't even seem to honor or have any love for the mother of Christ, who was to be called blessed throughout ALL the generations.Jesus had two natures. One created(human) and one eternal, which was obviously in existence long before mary. Mary is the mother of the human Jesus. Jesus(the man) is the son of Mary, but Jesus(God) did not originate in her womb since He is eternal He already existed. Mary is not above God, she is not God's wife. She is not to be worshiped or prayed to
That is right. Mary gave birth to Jesus, who is the Son of God, not God.Please Mary did not give birth to God.
What a round about and subtle way of calling Mary the "Mother of God"....she was not the "Mother of Christ", she was the "Mother of Jesus" (His humanity....not His deity) She is also not the "mother of the Church". The "Church" has no "mother". Christ is the Rock upon which the church is built. The church belongs to Christ ("I will build my church"). This means that Christ is the sole Head of the church. He has given this position to no man, not even Peter and his so-called successors. No, she is not the wife of God anymore than we are. But realize, God created the woman who would be His mother. She was more than a vessel, what a cold word. Christ called her, "woman" as Adam called Eve woman. Christ was the new Adam, who do you think was the new Eve whose offspring would crush the head of the serpent? We believe Mary is the mother of the Church, because she was the mother of the King. The mother who was foretold to Eve. The Ark of the New Covenant, the woman of Revelation 12. She is not God. She cannot perform miracles. But she is blessed, most blessed of all womankind.
Mary is the mother of the Son of God, who is Jesus the Christ. True or false?Correction in my previous post (#946): I said that Mary was "blessed above other women", but I was incorrect in that statement. In Luke 1:42, it says this about Mary:
Luke 1:42 And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.
The only place it says that a woman is "blessed above all women" is in Judges 5:24...and that woman wasn't Mary, it was Jael, the wife of Heber, the Kenite:
Judges 5:24 Blessed above women shall Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite be, blessed shall she be above women in the tent.
So says your tradition that dates back five hundred years. While ours dates almost two thousand. That's the difference. That's the only difference that continues. We acknowledge tradition, we hold some as sacred, but Protestantism denies tradition on one hand, and yet continues to spread it's tradition. I'm not judging mind, it is just, let's call a spade a.spade.What a round about and subtle way of calling Mary the "Mother of God"....she was not the "Mother of Christ", she was the "Mother of Jesus" (His humanity....not His deity) She is also not the "mother of the Church". Mary is not the "second Eve", nor is Mary "The Ark of the New Covenant, the woman of Revelation 12." The woman of Revelation 12 is the NATION OF ISRAEL, not Mary! There is not one mention of Mary in the New Testament epistles from Romans to Revelation. Yes, Mary was blessed above other women to have had the privilege of bringing the Savior into the world, but this allows no foundation for calling Mary the Mother of God, Queen of Heaven, Mediatrix, etc.
Mary is never called the `mother of God.' While Mary was the mother of Jesus as a man; the eternal Son of God had no beginning (Micah 5:2; John 1:1). Mary cannot therefore be called the mother of God, and is never so called by Bible writers.Mary is the mother of the Son of God, who is Jesus the Christ. True or false?
"Jesus" is Greek equivalent of the Hebrew word meaning Savior (Matthew 1:21). "Christ" is the Greek equivalent of the Hebrew word Messiah, meaning anointed, and refers to Jesus as the Messiah promised in Old Testament Scripture (Daniel 9:25-26; John 1:41; 4:25; Acts 2:36). While Jesus refers particularly to the Lord's humanity and incarnation by which He became a man to die for our sins, Christ refers particularly to the Lord's eternal deity as the Son of God. Jesus is never called God. Jesus cannot therefore be called God,Mary is never called the `mother of God.' While Mary was the mother of Jesus as a man; the eternal Son of God had no beginning (Micah 5:2; John 1:1). Mary cannot therefore be called the mother of God, and is never so called by Bible writers.
Are you saying that Jesus is the Word? yes or no?Mary is never called the `mother of God.' While Mary was the mother of Jesus as a man; the eternal Son of God had no beginning (Micah 5:2; John 1:1). Mary cannot therefore be called the mother of God, and is never so called by Bible writers.
Micah 5:2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
This is plain apostasy. Newlight are you back again?Jesus is never called God. Jesus cannot therefore be called God,
and is never so called by Bible writers.
All things are possible with God. True or false?Mary is never called the `mother of God.' While Mary was the mother of Jesus as a man; the eternal Son of God had no beginning (Micah 5:2; John 1:1).
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
and that it was impossible for Mary to be the "mother of God/Christ". God is eternal... He has NO MOTHER!
Instead of making all these false accusations as if you were someone of importance.... How about you back 1 of them up with scripture. This is plain apostasy. Newlight are you back again?
To deny Christ is God is to call Him a liar. He said, "I AM."Instead of making all these false accusations as if you were someone of importance.... How about you back 1 of them up with scripture.
That is not what is written in my bible. To deny Christ is God is to call Him a liar. He said, "I AM."
I have proved by the bible you have falsely accused me.To deny Christ is God is to call Him a liar. He said, "I AM."
